Similarities and techniques on decorating our walls and the ancient Pompeian wall decorations Pompeii styles are the four periods used in distinguishing the ancient Roman mural paintings. In reference to German archaeologist August Mau of 1840-1909, there is a relationship between these paintings and artwork at Pompeii. This was the largest among all surviving examples of Roman frescoes (Tinniswood 12).Today’s wall decorationsThe current decorations all aim at converting a house into a stunning and unique home.

Most of the individuals have been working on modifying the ancient pieces to form attractive pieces of pictures, art work, and paintings among others. This makes one breathe a new life in a dull and sterile environment. The most common décor in today’s walls is wall stickers. In many cases, these stickers are photos of international celebs, and attractive sceneries among others. In other cases, designers advocate for the use of material home decors, which are in the form of attractive nets, and other beautiful clothing (Lees-Maffei 11).

All in all, there are many similarities encompassing decorations in the two periods. One of the similarities is that they all aim at adding beauty in the homes. They also ensure that the room is sending a refreshing message to the people living there. From these two decorations, it is evident that there is a relationship that exists between the prevailing activities, and the decorations. When one looks at the images used in the ancient times, they reflect the activities taking place at that time.

The same happens to today’s decors (Piotrowski 13).From this article, it is evident that we can trace the happening using the arts.
