11 November The Ramayan: This report is primarily based on contemplating a widely acclaimed epic book “The Ramayana” which is written by R. K. Narayan and revolves around a riveting and engaging tale about classical Hinduism while illuminating the elements of abduction, abuse of power, conformity, and revenge. The Ramayana is basically a classical Indian tale played out by deities, demons, animals, and humans and the bedrock of this tale is formed by the concept that all these characters are able to turn into one another.
Maintaining perfect kingship, conformity, and obedience seems to be the essence of classic Hinduism and for achieving this feat, the King needs to be cautious enough to perform all his duties. The King is given the status of god in this epic classical tale and the term dharma is coined for those noble duties which are to be performed by the King, while the main antagonizing force against the noble deeds which are to be performed by the King proves to be structured by the demons, who seem to remain intent on creating pandemonium for destabilizing the kingship.
The demons are portrayed in this tale as evil beings and horrible troublemakers who hold heinous grudges against both humans and gods. Rama is one of the central characters in the tale discussed in this report who plays the role of a super hero armed with amazing charm and astounding powers to handle the mounting pressures brought on by the demons. He is considered to be the human expression of the God Vishnu whose main intention is to preserve mankind and save it from all kinds of harms and criminal acts.
The character of Rama happens to be my favorite and his personality is truly highly commendable and charming not only because he is powerful enough to invent his own religion and make other humans worship him yet he does not indulge in such abuse of power, but also because he travels fearlessly through a tough journey of battles, romance, thrill, and adventure. The distinguished ethical sense, nobility, bravery, and love for humanity shown on part of Rama, who happens to be just a human but is believed to be a human expression of the supreme god by others, is actually what makes him the central character in the Ramayan.
Rama is basically believed to be sent on earth so as to perfect divine kingship and preserve human dignity, which is antagonized by the demons and the miraculous way by which Rama succeeds in combating with the evil powers makes him truly remarkable in the history of classic Hinduism. Another main character is played out by Sita in the Ramayan who happens to be Rama’s wife and gets abducted by Ravana, which results in creating a highly thrilling issue in which Hanuman is seen playing the main supporting role for Rama.
Being the principal female character in the Ramayan, Sita is mainly seen focusing on Rama’s actions and noble deeds, all the while acting as a majorly important source of moral and spiritual support for him. Considering the level of purity, dignity, and loyalty shown persistently on the part of Sita for her husband Rama and other humans, she is given the status of a goddess just like Rama is considered to be a human expression of the God Vishnu according to the classic Hinduism religious ideologies.
