Although most of the hopeful persons in a generation do not live to see the day of light, their prophetic and awakening message lives on to give generations a drive to change the world they live in for the better of all. The other portions of mankind that enjoys the light of the moment and propagate slavery through the practice of faith have advocated for human rights (Baym and Levine 12). Apart from the advocates, their young bright and brave shares in hope for the better of all as children of God.

It is against this background that Anne Bradstreet shares her perspective on life. Clearly, messages penned down or recorded with a purpose lives throughout the time sharing their perspectives about life. Despite, the perspective of the message, the desired destiny anticipated is the same: a world of equal opportunities and peace for all. This paper discusses the developments in the fate of humanity as they unfold in the messages by Wheatley and Bradstreet. In so doing, the paper proves that human beings have the same origin and destiny, despite any visible or perceived differences among them.

The precious life humankind can be well examined in terms of “The Flesh and The Spirit” (Bradstreet 222-224). . This means that earthy wealth may be very useful to satisfy the needs of the body by exposing it to the treasures of this earth as Bradstreet says, “One Flesh was called, who had her eye/ On worldly wealth and vanity” (5-6). Health is also a big issue on the flesh and its desire is never to be sick. Bradstreet shows that, “Art fancy sick, or turned a sot/To catch at shadows which are not” (20-21).

The flesh is a mortal part of human beings that feels comfortable seeing that it can fulfill its desires, “Earth hath more silver, pearls, and gold/Than eyes can see or hands can hold/Affect’s thou pleasure? Take they fill” (31-33). The flesh acknowledges the wonders of creation and works to better the experience of the daily life. On the other hand, the spirit has its destiny in eternal peace as brought out by Bradsreet, “The other Spirit, who did rear/ Her thoughts unto a higher sphere” (7-8).

After death, the spirit is separated with flesh and moves to heaven where its treasures lie. Bradstreet alludes to this in, “And combat with thee will and must/ Until I see thee laid in th’ dust/ Sisters we are, yea, twins we be” (41-43).It is, therefore, where the treasure lies for both flesh and spirit that the yearning lies in the life of humankind. In Wheatley’s “Thoughts on the Works of Providence” (768), she wonders about the God providing for all mankind. Wheatley clearly illustrates by speaking out, “But see the sons of vegetation rise/ And spread their leafy banners to the skies/All-wise Almighty providence we trace” (69-71).

The world has beauty that has been done by God in the creation of valleys, mountains,
