Interpersonal skills include how a person communicates with people around him/her, but also involve the confidence and a person ability to listen and understand. Decision making, problem solving and personal stress management are also categorized as interpersonal skills. Intrapersonal skills involve emotional intelligence. This is the ability to understand and manage your emotional life, which in turn will affect the life of others around you. And Conceptual skills, it is important for a supervisor to see a ‘big picture’ because in a working environment many factors can change quickly. A police officer who possesses conceptual skills will help hi/her to see the consequences of a plan or idea. According to Cole (2001), conceptual skills is important for a supervisor to possess or nature, because a person is able to see how all parts of an organization contribute to its overall failure or success. Even if a team in an organization does not have any pressure, team’s enthusiasm and spirit will be reflected in the quality of goals being achieved. Therefore, to achieve these collaborative goals in an organization, a supervisor should behave as one of the team- supportive, collaborative, and friendly, etc. The police supervisor must be best friends with each member of the team to the extent that each member would go to great lengths to help the police department to achieve its goals. Insert 4 (i): 50 words The first step as a police supervisor I will discuss the problem with the constable who always comes late to work and try to find out what is the problem or reasons why he/she is coming to work late because in most situations open communication will help a team member to reach its goals.
