The Case of John White Shooting Daniel Cicciaro, Jr Cases related to racial discrimination has now become a major problem globally. Various kinds of discrimination can be noticed in places of work, the court of appeals and sports among others. Discrimination is majorly based on sex, social class, skin colour and level of education. On the theme of African-American, most incidences have come up between the two creating gap between them. The white and black discrimination takes in a large portion of insight into various levels. Several killings between the white and blacks have been noticed taking place severally and more especially the white taking the advantage of the blacks. The African-American have faced several challenges and deaths to their friends, relatives and families creating various modes of divergence. Parents should not on the other side involve in minor cases involving their children. The legal ownership of guns plays an unimportant role in the United States. Owning of guns should not make an individual to have a priority of manslaughter rather have used it as self-defence in critical attacks. However, there is need of adults not to involve themselves in other teenage matters. Lambert and Mead asserts that, the black man by the name John H. White fatally shot to death a teenager after the summer party that was held on Long Island after his son came with information that his fellow youths have planned to attack his fathers’ home again. The shooting came as a result of the drunken youths escorting the son the Mr. White by the name Aaron White home (Lambert &Mead 2). The clear evidence shows that the other youths had no gun. Mr. White had World War Beretta pistol that he possessed as a form of inheritance from his late grandfather. The single shot by the unlicensed semiautomatic weapon of Mr. White could not enable Cicciaro to survive and was taken to John T. Mather Memorial home in Port Jefferson where he was officially announced dead. The 53-year-old man who has been working as a construction foreman was arrested to face charges of murder without bail (Lambert &Mead 4). Mr. Whites’ lawyer suggested that the shooting of Cicciaro was due to several racial remarks by the drunken youths in phone calls and at the battle in front of the Mr. Whites’ house. The lawyer added that the drunken youths were making several insults within the Whites’ compound. Aaron fearfully told the father that a mob of youths was coming to kill his father (Lambert &Mead 5). Mr. White grew up listening to stories on how his family is being plotted by the Alabama after Klu Klux Clan set their house on fire developed fear and both quickly grabbed the guns to protect their lives and home (Lambert &Mead 5). Aaron was armed with a 20 gauge shotgun to harm his fellows who he has just celebrated the party together some hours back. When considering justice in various occasions, there should be facts that can enable one to disapprove and prove the exact occurrence of the act. The shooting of a 17-year-old youth who was just recently graduated from high school created several critics. Some suggested that Whites’ family were playing the race card gambling game and several allegations of racism were made. The killing of the Cicciaro was not intentional to Mr. White but it resulted due to fear of another attack on the family of the Mr. John White (Trillin 3). The whole scene made Mr. White to break into tears testifying that he had no intention of killing the young child of God. Daniel and Joanne Cicciaro parent of the departed said that after Mr. White had done the killing, he didn’t even bother to alert the police instead they made their first call to their lawyer (Trillin 3).The police noticed the killing through the noises that were made by other youths on the streets. The juries should always ensure that all cases are handled with care and self-esteem to ensure justice on all occasions (Trillin 4). The Suffolk County grand Jury greatly lowered the pending charges against the 53-year-old man to the assassination of a murder of a 17-year-old by use of a gun. The jury advocated that the 53-year-old man took the step of shooting as a form of defending himself and his home (Vitello 3). The defendant pleaded not guilty to the killing and weapon penalties that resulted in the death of Cicciaro. The defendant was charged by the grand jury due to the emotional charges and conflicting testimonies from witnesses who ostensibly stood by him by suggesting that the reckless act didn’t happen intentionally. Where justice is needed, there must be well designed outcome for the case at hand. While Mr. White was taken to the jury room about the murder, lots of tension got in and several noises could be heard ( Whittle & Erik 1). Larche one of the jury’s together with others cast his vote that Mr. White is guilty about the charges while one of ten jury felt not convinced about the guilt charges sealing the fate of Mr. White. Larche concluded the process a joke. The strong worship foundation of someone can make an individual to tell the truth or lies depending on the occurrence of certain activities. Mr White as a strong Christian felt sorrow to the family and asked God for forgiveness for what he did. The 57 year old man who was also a deacon felt sorrow at Faith Baptist church in Coram talked forcefully about the case that fall on him about the murder of the Cicciaro. Mr. White emotionally talked about the horrors of prison (Nir 3). Mr White as a Christian could describe prison as the upside down kingdom where right things can be proven wrong while the wrong can qualify to be right. The African American leaders later pushed for freedom of Mr. White. Governor Paterson and Rev. Al Sharpton made big push for freedom of Mr. White even without consulting the family of Cicciaro. The Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota was not much happy about the push for freedom. Several campaigns were held to free Mr. White from prison where he has just been for two years (Nir 3) While on the other hand, Cicciaro’s father, supporters and other relatives condemned the four years verdict of Mr. White was not appropriate suggesting that the charges and the duration of arrest to Mr. White should go higher than earlier decisions. However, after Mr. White was released from the prison, he suggested that his arrest contributed to transforming the family of Cicciaro to peace and understanding. Sonia wife of Mr. White and other family supporters furiously criticized the Suffolk consultants for failing to arrest other friends of Cicciaro who was shot dead forgetting about his son Aaron who is blamed by his fellow teenagers for the fatal confrontation. Taking a position while armed automatically suggests that the whole operation and decisions were set to fulfil the action. Taking a position by Mr. White and his son Aaron in various positions in their home while each armed with guns is a clear indication that they had planned to kill. After realizing that the youths had no weapons, the 57-year-old man could allow the youths to go safe (Kilgannon 6). But claims arises that Mr. White told the youths to escape but Cicciaro turned to him and decided to shoot. However, the old man should have come to attention that the youths were drunk. In connection to this, the old man could have realized this earlier and stop shooting. All the incidents circulate Mr. White’s son Aaron by sending rape message to Cicciaro girlfriend that made the youths come for Aaron. On the other hand, Aaron claims that the message was sent in the form of jokes that later resulted in murder. In most occasions, one is required to report to nearby police station directly or through a call for any ill done to other people or to the public. Taking part in alerting the administration plays a significance role to the affected (Kilgannon 6). However, in most cases it shows a sign of sorrow and where the case may arise, it may act as approve of not guilty. In connection to this, Mr. White failing to address the issue to the police through call automatically suggests that the action was intentional. The worst Mr. Wright did was calling the lawyer first instead of the police provides ways about the distraction of some crucial pieces of evidence (Vitello 3). The last call to 911 by Mr. Wright was in 2001 where he was making complaints about his sister in law. Even though the shooting that resulted in murder took place as a form of self-defense, he ought to have called the police to show full evidence that the incident was not intentional (Vitello 3). Despite act of defending and failing to recognize the state of drunken youths, the killing took place during the evening around 5pm when one is able to have a look and suggests the nature and state of a person. If the incident could have happened at night, we could have called it an attack but the killing took place day time and all were after the fun of youths. Straight forward information is needed be during the process of seeking facts for any incident that may have taken place to find a solution to the problem. Contradicting sources of information is not appropriate and cannot deliver approving results. In the whole scenario of killing a 17 year old boy brought in several comments about the death (Vitello 4). Some could even explain how the young man tried to pull gun from the hand of the old man. However, various points of supports could come from both sides. The white Americans could support the ideas of the deceased while majority of blacks could be on the other side to give support to Mr. White. All incidences are seen as an African and American hatred and on the other side are taken as revenge. During the world war, majority of black men died making the remaining blacks to have fear for some other attacks that may face them. The whole scene also showed some racial discrimination. However, the killing of the young man was not intentional rather it was a form of defending the life of family and home.
