The officers run mental health tests, and the results are negative, but he is found to have traces of drugs and alcohol. Being a member of a local band has allowed him to view life from a brighter perspective. However, Kris is hoping that the current probation period will not produce any unfavorable events because it could deter his vision of getting married. He is lucky to have an appealing college resume that could get him a good job or help him start a business. Robert and I share the view that Kris has a resolved to serve a clean probation period and complete it without any violation or criminal trespassing.

Additionally, Robert and I feel that Kris make weekly visitation to the probation office. However, Robert and I differ on the essence of drug testing in his probation period. Robert is convinced that drug testing will not give adequate signs of any misconduct that will lead to violation of probation rules. On the contrary, I feel that drug testing will prove that Kris is incapable of engaging in criminal activities based on the fact that drugs and alcohol impair judgment. However, Kris must give consent to carry out the test to prevent any future altercation with law enforcement officers due to the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The candidate must possess inability to commit a crime (Phillips, 2013). He has committed non-violent crime at the age of 14 years. He is a property offender who has not served a prison sentence at a mature age. The capacity of Kris to commit violent crime is low because the court has not linked his use of drugs and alcohol to any violent criminal activity of behavior. The community can tolerate his conduct given that Kris’ family has no criminal history. The candidate must have the right motivation to participate in the intensive supervised probation program (Carlson & Garrett, 2013).

He intends to use the period to prove that he has abandoned his illicit ways and use the platform to use the skills he gained in college. Kris intention to marry after a successful probation period is a guarantee that he will be a perfect candidate in the program.
