Places include bars and restaurants, stores, government buildings, elevators, hallways, and public restrooms. B. The law also applies to all enclosed areas at places of employment without exception. Transition: Now, let's take a look at the penalties that people will be subjected to for violating the ban. III. The ordinance calls for substantial fines that can be levied against an individual or the business where the violation occurs. A. Individuals that break the law can be fined 50 dollars. B. Businesses are fined for each day that a violation occurs and can be as high as 250 dollars.
