Continuing on from the first case, I did brief research into the remaining case files and found they all had varying degrees in criminal activity but there were only three others that seemed to match the criteria for felonies. The first one out of the remaining cases is in regard to the three security brokers and their decision to sell a certain stock then sell their own shares after share prices increased, though one of the brokers bailed out of the deal. The broker who bailed wouldn’t be involved in any felony activity but the other two seem to be taking part in illegal insider trading which is allowing them to have unfair advantages.

This type of activity is deemed “white collar crime” and is better known as, “stocks and commodities fraud” so indeed it will fall into the category of a felony crime. Quite often though there is the possibility it could be plea bargained down to “theft by deception” but still can be considered a severe enough offence to be deemed a felony. Following along after this case are the other two case files that research proved to be possible felonies as well? One of these involves the suspected drug dealer concealing a weapon and the other is the case of the employee who was disposing of hazardous wastes illegally.

With regard to the suspected drug dealer; there are some states which allow citizens to carry concealed weapons so this in itself doesn’t deem this case a felony. What does is the fact of the suspicion of illegal drug trafficking. Even a small amount of illegal substances such as this is grounds to assert this case as a felony in practically all states of the U.S.
