There are various challenges that one is bound to experience, for instance, culture and language. But with time, through persistence and the need to adapt to a foreign environment, then it becomes inevitable to learn. The goal of this project is to challenge people who have a negative attitude about working abroad. More so, show them that when opportunities come, one is obliged to take them as they are. It would be unwise to feel threatened by the idea of working abroad when others have successfully built their careers and impacted on the lives of people. Benefits of Working Abroad The first inspiration for this project came from the photos I chose for my project. To be precise, the image of a Derby University tutor who has been to China for three years teaching scholarly communication. That is a clear indication that the teacher was not deterred by challenges such as culture, people, language, and different environments. Rather, he pursued what he loves doing and in the process taught about communication. In that way, he shared what he has, and in return, he acquired something from his work. A close look at his picture shows that he is a happy man despite the tough job of tutoring University students. That creates inspiration as many people are objective of the fact that one can go a foreign country and be happy about working in a new environment. Therefore, this fear prevents many talented individuals from growing their skill when opportunities are available abroad. Secondly, the idea of working abroad shows courage. The image of the tutor from Derby University shows a person who is willing to learn the Chinese culture. In his bid to understand and coexist with these people, he had to learn their culture and language to communicate. With that, his work becomes simple since his student would know his and vice versa. That draws inspiration as it shows a person who was ready to against al odds to advance their teaching career. Many people like the idea of working in an environment they are comfortable and used to. In that way, they are unable to share their knowledge with other people from different localities. Furthermore, being afraid of new places means that one is not exposed to new challenges. Therefore, what they learn is limited compared to the individual who is exposed to lots of problems while working abroad. The third inspiration comes from the picture of a young man who works as a volunteer at the Chinese Educational Development Project. That is a clear indication of a person who loves to give back to society. However, their duty is not only to their people but also to others. Education is the core to success and therefore giving it to others is a noble mission. Some people may dislike the idea, but in this case, the young man is building their skills through voluntary work. Also, he gets the chance to interact with the local people and therefore learns about their culture. That is a significant step in furthering his teaching career as a young man in a foreign country. Being a volunteer does not limit their capabilities, in fact, they stand a chance to get better positions in future since they have the trust of the local people. Therefore, this move is an inspiration to young talented individuals who want an opportunity to develop their skills. Soon after commencing this project, it became apparent that the world is getting connected is so many ways. One is through education as people are taught the same skills irrespective of the geographical location. Therefore, that means that with the right professional qualifications, one can work anywhere as long as they have the heart and courage to face new challenges. For instance, on educational matters, there lacks enough teachers to give proper skills to everyone. Therefore, a person who identifies this need and responds by offering their service abroad s helping others. The same case applies to other career opportunities such as banking, engineering among others. Furthermore, such an individual will experience personal growth and learn to interact with people while giving their service. Every individual has aspirations which should not be limited by their fear of working in a different country. The argument is that this move is not impossible but has enough challenges. In the case of the picture of the man who worked and owned a Chinese supermarket, the inspiration comes from the fact that one can follow their entrepreneurial spirit abroad. The opportunities are endless, and one can become happy as long as they do something they love. Most importantly. A professional gets their CV boosted and therefore getting work becomes less of a hustle compared to a person without such experience. In that way, one builds their career within a shorter time compared to an individual who chooses to stay and work at home out of fear. Furthermore, working abroad allows a person to enhance their adaptability, communication skills, and flexibility. In this case, they are forced to handle their job professionally while dealing with the challenges of the new environment. In that way, they toughen up where their objectiveness, fairness, and reasoning. Therefore, my project also drew inspiration from this viewpoint. The fourth inspiration of this project is breaking the norm. People are used to the idea of getting educated and working in their countries. However, as populations increase and opportunities reduce in countries following dreams abroad is an option. Most people fear the challenges that await them. Therefore, talented individuals lose the chance of improving their skills and impacting on the lives of people who require their assistance. For instance, the image of the young fellow who volunteered in Chinese Educational Center shows an individual who is willing to share what they have. As such, Chinese people in need of educational services benefit from his volunteerism. Such a working relationship helps one build a lasting friendship. As such, if one experiences a problem, they can seek assistance from the people they interact with. In that way, a chain of associations is created from the people who benefit and those who offer their support. Other works from various photographers also share the same idea concerning working abroad. They explore an area that has for long received little attention as most people are objective about the thought of working in foreign countries. However, the most important thing concerning the different viewpoints of various authors is the need to expose the potential of building careers in foreign nations. Most of the photography is bent on the idea of preaching the positivity associated with working abroad to remove the dark cloud associated with international work. Photography is a tool that enlightens society and therefore should preach positive messages. However, various photographers have varying opinions that may sway people's opinions concerning working abroad. However, the point remains clear that one should not deter from going after their dreams abroad. There has been image theft brought about by photographs showing international corporations that show foreign companies that do not protect the rights of employees. As it is, photographic journalism should be ethical in that it should not infringe the right of people. For instance, such should expose both the good and bad concerning working abroad to allow people to take a stand. The photographs used for this project have highlighted the positive aspects of working abroad. Therefore, the type of photography used is ethical as it does not conflict the confidentiality of these people in any way. Furthermore, photography journalism should be thematic in that people can understand certain concepts as they happen in society. For example, in this project, the theme is the positivity of working abroad. Also, the photography has upheld the privacy and confidentiality of people. None of the people in the photos have had their private moments intruded rather the photography was considerate. In that way, it was respectful making the context of working abroad something to consider rather than run away from. Conclusion The concept of photography journalism is one that plays critical towards highlighting the positivity of working abroad. This theme is relevant in society as many professional are faced with the issue of whether to work abroad or stay at home. Also, some photography has exposed issues such as companies exploiting foreign workers and infringing on their rights. In that way, most people are opposed to the thought of working in foreign countries for their safety. On the other hand, there are those that feel that they should stay away from challenges such as language and culture. Therefore, it becomes tricky to convince such people to have a different perspective about working abroad.
