CREATION AND ACQUISITION OF INFORMATION and The Creation and Acquisition Of Information has Become an Obsession of Contemporary Society Obsession Obsession entails a persistent impulse or ideas, which continuously forces its way into human consciousness. In most cases, obsession is associated with mental illness or anxiety. In simple terms, obsession entails the state in which human beings tend to think something frequently or constantly and abnormally. It entails a persistent preoccupation with feelings or ideas. In some cases, obsession entails activities in which individuals spend additional time doing. Manifestation Obsession in human beings is likely to manifest due to various reasons including biological and environmental factors. The link between insufficient neurotransmitter and serotonin level in human development is likely to cause obsession. On the other hand, environmental factors can also trigger human obsession. In this case, environmental factors include emotional abuse, physical environment, education, lifestyle and changes in the environment. Knowledge acquisition among human beings mostly depends on information extraction. When human beings interact with other society members for a while, they are likely to acquire and create information. As this occurs, communication tends to become easier. When humans create and acquire information especially from their surroundings, neural circuits tend to be generated. Human creation and acquisition of information is a natural phenomenon, especially in the society. In fact, the process helps to relate with other human beings. With this in mind, this expertise will elaborate on why human beings are obsessed with creation and acquisition of extended information in the society. The expertise will also evaluate the possible reasons and effects regarding this phenomenon. Human Obsession With Creation And Acquisition Of Information Human beings are intelligent creatures who have the reasoning capability to make decisions. In the contemporary society, most people tend to value the acquisition of information. In fact, people who are more informed than others are highly valued (Kemp, 2006, p 102). Currently, most people across the globe live in a highly digitized world, which is characterized by new technological interventions and increased information. In fact, most people are better equipped in terms of information acquisition and communication (Constantinescu, 2014, p. 90). Most people seem obsessed with the idea that they may be left behind if they do not get in with the culture. People are getting obsessed with creation and acquisition of extended information to be informed in terms of global happenings and new inventions. However, the process of information creation and acquisition tends to be different depending on individuals (Golitsyn & Petrov, 1995, p. 34). Practically, every human being has some added advantage over the others since humans tend to possess unique information creation and acquiring systems. It remains a curious fact that most people in the contemporary society are obsessed or highly value information creation and acquisition. In fact, individuals who have extensive knowledge regarding some aspects of the society tend to gain an advantage over other people. Most people, especially in contemporary societies, believe that creation and acquisition of extended information generate new opportunities and class in the society (Gerald, 2009, p. 37). In simple terms, acquisition of information demonstrates how individuals are better equipped in the society. In most cases, societal members tend to accord people with better opportunities and class different privileges. Given the privileges most informed people are accorded in the society, individuals are getting obsessed with acquiring additional information especially in the contemporary society (Kemp, 2006, p. 74). Human increased obsession with information creation and acquisition remains closely connected to empowerment. Ability to create and acquire information tends to provide an important tool for empowerment, especially in most human activities. In this case, empowerment entails the process of obtaining opportunities, especially for marginalized people. In this context, empowerment entails having the power or the capability either to authorize or being self-sufficiency. Therefore, the drive to have these opportunities in the society in most cases tends to create an obsession especially in information acquisition (Lan, 2005, p. 35). Man loves power, especially in the community. Being regarded as an informed person in the society motivates people. In most cases, it is associated with positivity and wellness in the community. Having adequate knowledge and information in the society creates the much-needed respect. In this case, information acquisition generates into empowerment in the community. Information and communication capacity among human beings in contemporary society are likely to benefit humans during decision-making processes (Information Technology; Wu and co-researchers in the area of information technology published, 2009, p. 43). In this case, information acts as a basic pillar in terms of human empowerment. With this in mind, most people are getting obsessed with information creation and acquisition. Social Networks Social media introduction, especially in the contemporary society, is currently creating an obsession with information creation and acquisition. Information creation and acquisition is currently brought about by internet accessibility in contemporary society. The internet today is currently increasing information widespread across the globe (Taylor & Hogenbirk, 2001, 87). In fact, the social media is making the world a small village through information acquisition and creation. The internet is helping contemporary societies in disseminating knowledge and information. Most of the social media users know how to develop and create information (Constantinescu, 2014, p. 67). In most cases, the social media gives its users the obsession to acquire and create information. Users of Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube in the contemporary society are always quick to acquire and disseminate newly acquired information to other users. The need to outshine other social media users remains a driving force towards the obsession. On the other hand, information and knowledge accessibility through the internet also influences human obsession with information acquisition and creation. Generally, knowledge accessibility, especially through the internet, makes people sharpen their desires to stay informed. Social media is always entertaining and sometimes full of information (Hintz, 2009, p. 36). Most people stay up late in order to catch up with latest inventions and information across the globe. By doing this, human beings are acquiring new advanced information. Therefore, most people are currently embracing the social media to acquire information. In fact, individuals who are not embracing this modern technology feel left behind (Shrum, 2007, p. 43). Example Life is currently a popularity contest. In fact, it seems as though the popularity in modern times depends on the number of friends a person has especially on social media followers. Social media tends to give individuals especially teenagers the reinforcement and the energy just like school tests give unjustified yields and reinforcement. Common example is universities and military campuses where most individuals meet and share information through the social media. Generally, these institutions offer an effective platform where individuals can meet and discuss happenings in the society. In most cases, when members of these institutions meet, they tend to catch up hence demonstrating their prowess in the area. We live in a highly digitized world where most people seem obsessed with the idea that they may be left behind if they do not get in with the culture. In fact, most people are somehow addicted to new communication aspects and inventions that are currently picking pace in the society. This aspect is common when it comes to the use of social media (Cardoso, 2006, p. 98). In most instances, you find that an individual may log on the internet or the social media looking for particular information or hoping to keep up with a particular conversation or thread. However, the minute another user gets online; there is a high possibility that one gets easily distracted. In most cases, he ends up looking at other irrelevant information that may not be related in any way to what they had in mind when they logged in to the site (Cardoso, 2006, p. 98). One subject often leads to the other and before the individual realizes it, he ends up spending more time on the internet than the planned time. Although most people would prefer nothing more than to gain a certain level of control on the amount of information in which they consume, the reality is that this is more difficult than it sounds (Gill, 2006, p. 46). One way in which one can deal with the consumption of irrelevant information is to view the consumption of information in the same manner that we view the consumption of food. There is a certain level of restraint when it comes to the decision on what food to consume and what we do not need to consume. For instance, even though there are various restaurants in the vicinity of our homes, it does imply that we normally go from each restaurant to the next consuming whatever is available (Information Technology; Wu and co-researchers in the area of information technology published, 2009, p. 85). Social and cultural aspects also play a significant role in how human beings are currently getting obsessed with information acquisition and creation. Some cultures tend to be more informed than others are. In fact, most of these cultures require social competencies from their societal members. On the other hand, the socialization aspect mostly influences societal members into aggressiveness and obsession in information acquisition and creation (Antikainen, 2007, p. 87). Socialization, in this case, entails the lifelong process where societal members tend to inherit and disseminate norms, ideologies and customs that provide individuals with the habits and skills. Most of these skills and habits are always necessary for engaging with the society. In simple terms, social and cultural aspects tend to generate social and cultural continuity. Therefore, some culture requires that their members stay informed. In most cases, these aspects force some members to aggressiveness and obsession in information acquisition to be on a similar ground with other members of the community (Information Technology; Wu and co-researchers in the area of information technology published, 2009, p. 43). Scholars who are always seeking prowess in education tend to create a human obsession with information creation and acquisition. In most cases, scholars always want to outshine each other in the education sector (Rahman & Saeed, 2013, p. 89) In doing this, they create an obsession with information creation and acquisition. By reading new publications, most scholars tend to create the obsession aspect. The obsession with information acquisition and creation is also common in the business sector. In most cases, business investors are always seeking to perform better in the markets (Golitsyn, & Petrov, 1995, p. 74). The competitive aspect tends to create the obsession aspect in the society. With information invention, most business organizations are getting obsessed with information acquisition and creation. The need to stay competitive in the markets affects the need to create information obsession. Effects The effects of obsession in information creation and acquisition are always positive. In societal settings, acquisition of information is viewed as positive. In fact, people who are more informed especially in the community are associated with positivity and wellness. They are simply valued within the community. In some aspects, they are viewed as learned individuals who can help the community prosper. (Kemp, 2006, p. 32). Having adequate knowledge and information in the society creates the much-needed respect. Therefore, obsession in information acquisition and creation remains a positive aspect. Positivity, in this case, means that it can benefit an individual or even the community. Both the community and the individual will definitely gain in terms of development and prosperity. Business minded individuals are also gaining from this information obsession aspect. In fact, information obsession affects marketing competition in three different ways. The three ways include the need to change the industrial structure, the need to create competitive advantage and the need to spawn new businesses (Kemp, 2006, p. 35). The fact obsession in knowledge acquisition remains important in business activities, most entrepreneurs are likely to benefit from the additional knowledge of how the market operate. In this case, obsession in the acquisition of knowledge tends to give entrepreneurs a competitive advantage in the market. An increase in developments, especially in most contemporary societies, is forcing researchers and investors into an obsession with information creation and acquisition. In this case, human obsession in information acquisition remains justifiable (Gill, 2006, p. 46). Conversely, ability to create and acquire information tends to provide an important tool for empowerment, especially in most human activities. Most people have an added advantage over the less informed people in the society (Kemp, 2006, p. 48). Obsession with the acquisition of extended information generates new opportunities and class in the society. Most societies tend to value community members who have the extra knowledge and facts on issues. They rank and respect them. Therefore, this is a positive attribute. Information and communication capacity among human beings in contemporary society are likely to benefit humans during decision-making processes (Information Technology; Wu and co-researchers in the area of information technology published, 2009, p. 43). In this case, information acts as a basic pillar in terms of human empowerment. Conclusion From the expertise, it is evident that social networks play a significant role in individuals obsession of information especially in the contemporary world. Therefore, it means that information remains an important aspect of driving human beings. Most situations around the society require judiciously choosing specific pieces of information before acting. Therefore, acquisition of knowledge among individuals tend to depend on the extraction of information. In most cases, this aspect is gained through human interaction. However, thing are changing especially in the current society in that people regard information acquisition and creation as a significant aspect. In fact, people are getting obsessed with this aspect. As indicated in the expertise, various factors create human obsession in information acquisition and creation. Effects of information obsession remains wide and positive. In most cases, people who have additional knowledge regarding some aspects of the society tend to gain an advantage over other people. Acquisition of extended information generates new opportunities and class in the society.
