This means that there is a quality of they lack in their art. Proper planning an commitment is a requirement to succeed in the art. One’s opinions should be highlighted and supported in every writing. Thesis statement This paper will capitalize on exploring the type of risk that the author takes in writing the article. Through a critical evaluation of the article, a summary will be drawn with main the main them on risks management and correct choice of language. Article Analysis From the article, it is evident that the writer believes the only way to realize communication and draw the attention of readers is through taking this risk. Readers like reading stories that are the opposite of expectations. Although writers take risk to explore topic not previously done, they eventually bring new and viable ideas in to book. In writing to win a large number of readers, safety in writing is a risk that many writers overlook. Scholars have considered safety as a component with less weight in the art of writing (Tepper). Many people know that smoking is dangerous to one’s health to appoint that the cigarettes contain a warning of being harmful. However, the author brings a different idea to book, where he several advantages of smoking unlike what other writers do. In this case, it is risky for the author to choose such a sensitive topic and argue of benefits of smoking knowing very well that security agents are opposed to the idea. This means that the writer can be questioned by authorities hence risky to him. The idea that cigarettes are beneficial to humankind raises eyebrows and hence can rise the contest on the subject. Partiality in writing is most likely to increase the controversy and hence risks in writing. In whatever subject matter, the writer must argue on both sides. This means that advantages and disadvantages must be well presented in the article. The author of the article analyses several disadvantages of smoking despite the fact that they are for the idea that smoking is health to one’s life. In an argumentative writing, the author must present both sides and show the strengths of each without been bias on one side., this means that the author should not take side on whatever argument and should just make suggestions remaining partial at the end of the writing. Although the author tried to make a justification that smoking is healthy, disadvantaged of smoking are keenly presented in the article showing the impartiality of the author. The difference in presentation of ideas is from the diverse differences in both written and oral languages. With growth of technology witnesses in the last past decades, language has moved from verbal to written. Every cultural setting has its norms regarding language and manner of presentations. As such, there is classification of languages from standard, regional and local languages. Writers majorly concentrate with standard language. In the article, there is proper use of standard language that is easily understood. Standard language goes hand in hand with controversial topic (Ferraro). From this, the readers expect more of the article as they would when reading a normal scholarly article. To ensure that the author convinces the readers, facts and opinions are given and required evidence provided. The author majorly relies on what he believes to be true. From personal opinion while using standard language, it is likely to convince the reader in spite of having chosen an easily challengeable topic. Discussion on analysis Arguably, the above analysis is a clear evidence of how the writer has overlooked the possible risks and gone ahead to write on a critical and controversial issue. In the article, the writer confidently takes strong grounds to support the opinions he has regarding cigarette smoking. Smoking as a subject has been discussed in several publications like books and peer-reviewed journals. As such, the author has borrowed ideas from these hence supported his ideas fully. Though the risks taken by the author were quite many, they were worth taking to provide a justification of the unreality of the many-known dangers of smoking. Importance of smoking as a topic is arguably conflict-ridden, as the negative part has been discussed widely by scholars and medical practitioners who consider smoking deadly (Boyle, 2010). However, when a writer decides to take a certain risk, it becomes an opportunity to the readers since new ideas are highlighted and unknown facts substantiated. Сonclusion It is not a guarantee that every article written from a risk-taking perspective will be successful and draw the attention of the reader. In fact, many writers have tried taking risks in their writing to no positive development. This is evidently confirmed from the above analysis and discussion since several aspects work together with the risk taking. Although an writer who understands that taking risk increases creativity especially if the article wins readers attention, other factors must be employed. The reader wrote to oppose to the known disadvantages of taking cigarettes by first confirming the existence of the risk and later giving a justification why the risk assumptions are not viable. In the language version, standard language has been used creatively by the writer to present the topic in an understandable manner and ensure that the readers’ expectations are met.
