Download file to see previous pages As we shape up the interface between the designer and the virtual environment we are naturally going to produce a greater and far better outcome.
It will enable the end-user to be more creative and experimental and explore possibilities that were previously tedious or impossible. The design possibilities of virtuality will enhance the outlook of environments.
Now we can also term it according to the duration it can last. For any new thing, the duration is 10-30 years. If it lasts for 10 it would be popular as a tool another 10 and it would very well be a theory and if it survives all 30 years it will soon be defined as a revolution.
It was the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century that saw the emergence of Digital architecture. It was basically the progress of computer-aided software and technologies that aided the drastic makeover. The computer applications transformed the design methodology; this is especially true for the “virtual reality”, CAD/CAM technologies and internet.
What it does is that it simply assists the design thinking process of humans through processes like internet aided designs and web-based designs. And if this progresses to alter the design methodology in the future along with the thinking patterns then we might be witnessing something that will be more than just a theory.
To assess the possibilities of digital architecture to the fullest FEIDAD Award (Far East International Digital Architectural Design Award) was launched in 2000. The major aim of it was to capture projects using digital concepts like electronic media, information, computing, cyberspace and virtual to define and elaborate on future spaces and architecture in the digital age. ...Download file to see next pagesRead More

Process Architectural Design

... Process Architectural Design The fire and security monitoring system is meant to manage, and to monitor the fire security alarms in a building. In order to best understand how this system works, it is only prudent to define its design both in terms of the software and the hardware components that it is made up of; we have to know how the systems components relate to each other and functions of every component involved in the working of the whole system that is controlled from the central point of security monitoring (Robinson 2009). This document covers the definition of the fire monitoring system as well as the fire security equipment. The software described by the software requirements specification runs on the fire security equipment...

Design Process and Appraisal

...?Introduction Several bridges have been erected in London to cross the river Thames and each and every bridge is important because of its very own uniqueness. Some bridges have a history of their and they have now become cultural landmarks, while the techniques employed for their renovation and reconstruction have made them architectural and structural landmarks. In this report 4 bridges from London have been selected and their brief details along with comments on their designs have been stated. Binary Dominance Matrices are used for two bridges to establish various salient features of the bridges. Waterloo Bridge Type of Bridge: Traffic Bridge Purpose: To facilitate road and foot traffic Age: 194 years Dimensions: The span of the bridge...

Digital Media for Design

... from anywhere and at anytime. It allowed at providing more information that was available to people and enabled them to share useful ideas. This also encourages people to create new things based on other people’s thoughts or works, and the rise of these interactions brought the growth of digital media in the present times. Since digital media possesses lots of advantages, it has changed the way of approach in various professions like politics, art, and design. Especially, existence of digital media is very significant for designers in a way that it facilitates design innovations and design processes that used to take a long time solely with the hands such as duplicating and manipulating. Everything can be duplicated and manipulated very...

Design Process

...? Case Study, Computer sciences and Information technology Case Study, Computer sciences and Information technology A good design requires good and accurate thinking in order to create a good system. Creating designs involve making decisive choices that are user oriented. Software engineering or development is a creative field that may require the use of prototypes to inform the designer during the design process. Prototypes help inform the design process and enables designers see mistakes before the final project is delivered to the client. Interactive systems design is essential in creating software interfaces. The aim is to illustrate how the prototypes can help designers generate and demonstrate what they intend to deliver. Designers...

Organizations digital investigation process

...Organization’s digital investigation processDigital investigation is the process of preserving, collecting, validating, identifying, analyzing, interpreting, documenting, and presenting of digital evidence from digital sources. The evidence may be used to facilitate the construction of events deemed to be criminal or in contrast with the laid down procedures. Digital investigations for an organization differ to digital investigation for law enforcement because of the procedure adopted. Different models of operation used depend on the complexity of the situation (Marshall, 2009). Digital investigations arise as a result of an occurrence suspected, attempted or actual in an organization. The occurrences can be triggered by internal...

Design Process - Satellite hinge

... [School] Number] September 10, Preliminary design process to select an optimal hinge for a small satellite panel deployment. Problem Statement The primary goal for this design process is to select an optimal hinge for a small satellite panel deployment. The satellite has 8 solar panels with the inner panels held by a 90o hinge to the satellite while the outer panels are held to the inner panels by 1800. The solar panels in this case are usually stowed during the launch and are normally deployed when the satellite is in a stable orbit. Hinge Constraints The principle behind functionality of the hinge is an arrangement of joints that have been selected and are aimed at providing a quasi-center-pin guiding behavior coupled by a high twist...

Process and Capacity Design

...Executive Summary The objectives of a business are typically expressed in terms of profitability and market share. Maximizing profit involves maximizing the appeal of the product or services to the customer while minimizing cost. One of the ways of achieving the business objective in an operations management perspective is through a process strategy under the process and capacity design area. Processes consist of all the operations needed to make a product. Process and capacity design creates the best process for a particular product that will be produced, with ease and economically, at an optimum number of units. It aims at meeting customer requirements and achieving competitive advantage for an organization. It directly impacts...

Influence of Digital Fabrication on Design Process

... The great hall ceiling of the British Museum The construction of the great hall ceiling of the British Museum is one of the applications of the digital fabrication. The construction used the mathematical spline curves that were used to manipulate the designing by the architect. The architect work was made possible by the use of these curves so as to determine the desired design. The NURBS (non uniform rational b-splines) that are in the computer are the once that were used to get the exact design of the architecture. The ceiling had to come out in such a way that it told a story the architecture had to ensure that this comes out clearly. This is where NURBS comes in helping the architect ensure that the ceiling comes out...

Digital Game Theory and Design A research by Econsultancy one of the leading e-commerce and digital marketing researchers in America shows that over 19% of American population plays social online games. Online gaming has registered a rapid growth in United States due to development of social networking technologies. The emerging marketing shows that social gamers are neither stereotypical as hardcore console gamers nor are they typical. The study reveals that the number of women playing online social games is relatively higher than men by 2 percent. 30 percent of the interviewed gamers admitted that they play daily while about 27 percent disclosed that they play many times in a week. The report also revealed that an increase...

Digital Logic Design Principles

... (Claude and House, 41). Engineers have discovered that the physical volume of a given gate has continued to decrease as more progresses are made in the development of IC technology. What this interprets to is that in the future, digital tools of same or smaller sizes will be able to take on much bigger tasks with an increased speed and efficiency. Improve logic gates also enable the carrying out of complex mathematical functions. Combined Logic Gates Representation using the Truth Table For simplicity in understanding the operation of the gates, designers have combined all the gates by representing them in the Truth table. As earlier stated, a Truth table is basically tables to help understand the behavior of logic gates. Using...
