Computer Sciences and Information Technology Introduction As a consultant, there are several recommendations that I would give the Peachtree Healthcare centre to address the challenges that it faces while trying address its IT problems. Some of the recommendations that I will give to the institution are discussed below. Recommendations The institution should evaluate the available choices in the institution through focusing on some specific issues to the business and the current state of the systems of IT in Peachtree. Through this, the most appropriate solutions to the problems will be achieved. Peachtree should also try to focus on standardizing the models that they use in carrying out their businesses and dedicate the needs of the IT system leading to a better performance. The institution should also consider the major forces that affect its profitability and align the IT system with the most current business practices that in carries. The top management of the institution should channel its efforts on prioritizing for equal resource allocations, while on the other hand the I/C management puts its focus on making an IT system that works following the guidelines of the company’s top management. On the level of service, the focus should be placed on the basic needs of the target customers and the IT performance should be based on the doctors of Peachtree new system design that brings about reliability without squashing doctors independence (Too far ahead of the curve? 2007). Again, the institution can use a service level alignment to ensure that all their external and internal domains align, maintain the quality of the care that they provide, their greatest assets and all the doctors to receive and play a part in the implementation process. To retain the doctors flexibility in decision-making, there should be an introduction of an IT system that is in a position to allow for surgical standardization. The institution should provide a user-friendly system for doctors by placing its focus on extreme system simplicity while at the same time maintaining the care quality for their businesses. Using pre-built SOA modules when possible and at the same time, basing all the modules will improve the communication and the interface between the doctors and the management in each module (‘too far ahead of the curve? 2007). Peachtree can also focus on purchasing custom- built services and channel its energies on those modules that pertain only to their business. As per this reason, it is imperative to come up with the strategic partnership to implement, operate and update a standardized technological environment. The clients also need to develop some skills and at the same time focus on the IT policies and strategies. Peachtree is also supposed to ensure the confidentiality of its clients through every possible means. One of the ways to protect the confidentiality is through breaking the intellectual processes in existence into small segments with different providers (Harman, 2008). They can do this via a single provider for information based on research and another provider with information based on the patients. The security of the new IT systems to the institution must be provided with adequate security for their performance to be effective (Berggren, 2013). For reliability from SAO to be insured, the systems must be well planned and allow data sharing on a single transferable platform for reliability. Another way to solve the problems is strictly sticking to the laid plan and maintaining a strict schedule to the operations of the company. Resistance to change the projects scope will also allow for a more reliable system. To make sure the system is reliable, the company may use previous ideas that will also lead to reliability. The reliability of the new system should be implemented in a way that is friendly to the doctor’s relationship when still maintaining the business model alignment of Peachtree Healthcare. In times when the system proves to be failing, Peachtree must be prepared to terminate the project if necessary. The CEO and the CIO are bound to make many decisions together so that they prevent the systems from failing even those single decisions that seem to affect IT only (Too far ahead of the curve? 2007). Peachtree also needs to carry out a strategic impact analysis that the new technologies will bring to their businesses and react to the results produced. Conclusion It is possible for a planned IT system to fail even after the planners do their best in the planning process, but its also possible for a poorly planned system to fail too, Sticking strictly to the schedule and the management trying to resist any change to the scope of Peachtree is one of the best solutions that the institution will take to minimize the risk of being affected by the new system. These opinions bring lots of sense to me as a consultant. As a consultant, I would recommend the use of monopolistic system in the institution could also act to reduce the risk involved; this is achievable through locking the clients into consistent procedures, which brings an improvement in the care given in the centre. The pros for SAO significantly outweighs the pros of the monopolistic system, this then calls for the formation of an oversight board to look at the issues at hand. In an effort to prevent a budget overrun, the company needs to keep strict schedules that are in line with the business models that the centre uses through enactment of an oversight board, this is one of the unique recommendations that I have made to Peachtree Healthcare. The factory model that describes a company whose systems in IT is imperative to the company that a delay in one second could be so disastrous classifies the centre. The mode calls for the companys CEO and CIO to sit together and plan for proper security measures to work with any possibilities of making the system fail. Finally, I would recommend that, the new systems capabilities must all be in line not only with the business model but also allow for a user-friendly interface so that the system makes the doctors happy. To accomplish the above goals, the institute is bound a strategic relationship and partnership oriented design in carrying out its activities. To keep quality care of the patients I the healthcare, the new SAO systems must be in a position to excel at security and reliability. References Too far ahead of the curve?. (2007).
