WiFi Hot Spot of WiFi Hot Spot Before starting this there are a few things that should be checked that is. Either of the type (Desktop / Laptop) of the system must have a wireless LAN card installed. For wireless hotspot, we need a wireless connection to be free from use and a wired LAN connection to be connected. We will use that wired LAN connection to share the connection wirelessly with others. Keep this noted that some work networks do not allow connection sharing because of group policies defined by the network engineers.

Step 1:We shall start working by going into the Network and Sharing Center via Control Panel; it can also be quickly accessed by right-clicking on the network icon in the system tray. Once we are there, we will see the link for "Set up a new connection or network" as shown in figure (i) below. Figure (i) Setting up a new connection network step 2:A new wizard will open after clicking the link "Set up a new connection or network" that allows connecting virtual private networks, dial-up, setting up a new wireless connection, and creating a new ad hoc wireless network.

We will select the last option i.e. create a new ad hoc wireless network as shown selected in figure (ii) below. Figure (ii) setting up a wireless ad hoc network ad hoc network allows file sharing and internet connection sharing as shown in figure (iii) below. We will use it for internet connection sharing. Figure (iii) wireless ad hoc network wizard step 3:Once the wizard is started it requires the desired network a name and a suitable security option selected. Suggestion: WEP security type is very easy to crack so if someone wants to secure his/her network; a secured and decent sized key should be entered even for WPA 2.

Last but not least is the option with a check box showing "Save this network" should be marked. As shown in figure (iv) below. Figure (iv) ad hoc network setup wizardFigure (v) Finishing the setup step 4:At this step our newly created ad hoc network is ready to start connecting other devices, (figure (vi)) but it is not able to share internet with other devices yet. Figure (vi) Ready to connect ad hoc network whenever we disconnect from the ad hoc network it will stop working as an ad hoc network until it is connected again.

This way we will quickly switch in and out of the network with just a few clicks. Step 5:The final step is to enable connection sharing using the network card; this will enable everyone to connect with our ad hoc network. To proceed with this step, click the “change adapter settings” on the Network and Sharing Center page. It is important to share the connection from the adapter that is actually connected to the internet. As shown in figure (vii) below. Figure (vii) Sharing the connection now we are in a position to use connect any wireless enables the device to our new ad hoc network to access the internet.
