Essay, Computer sciences and Information technology E-commerce Strategy for UniBookworm: The Online Bookstore for Used University & College Textbooks There is no clear description of the company scenario. There is need for an in depth description of what the project aims at. If possible, there should be examples for existing companies so that one can easily relate the project to real life experiences. Do not make it sound so much of an ideal situation. The name should also at least give a clue of the whole project, the choice sounds unfamiliar. Consistency is a good value in project development. Mixed mission and vision statements that do not conform to the purpose of the company as stated in the title of the project. Our mission is to provide easy access to cheap (used) books for students all over the world, with regards to the steadily increasing prices on the textbook market (YPB.com, 2012). There should be a vision statement that is the basis of the creation of the given mission statement. There is so much need for clarity on the main purpose of the project. Is it focused at selling the books to its target audience or to offer students a forum for discussion on textbooks and course content, share experience and network all over the continent? Change of a project should also not be initiated because it does not bring forth so much revenue. On the contrary, there should be a development strategy for better marketing and related issues to increase the market scope. It’s not practical to have such a large scope of market for a developing investment. The mission and vision should be smart, where the mission is specific, measurable, and also time bound. Stating that the service will aim to deliver anywhere in the world means there so mush need for an understanding of different course requirements from potentially thousands of academic institutions. This may take a million ears to achieve. The site needs to sell itself in terms of look and feel, so that it is easy to use and keeps interest from site visitors. By using existing customer purchase and search data, the site can offer a more personalised service and allow for people to find additional books which complement current ones. It can also tap into other social networks to help draw in more customers and promote itself at University fresher fairs with a fun image which will help people to remember them when later looking for their course books. Finally, although allowing for some fun and humour, the site needs to be seen as a place which can provide a good quality service and experience whilst maintaining an eye on keen pricing and offers to demonstrate affordability. Such a requirement barely gives assurance of usability, effectiveness and efficiency. The marketing strategies in place are not extensive. There is need for provisions on how the market scope can be expanded but still remain relevant and beneficial. A definition of the specific scope market is necessary as focusing on all university students may be relatively unachievable. Not all people are conversant with the marketing strategies explained. Expand on the how and benefits of the same. Global Medical Portal Incorporated (GMPI) The project gives any potential investor a relatively exaggerated development profile. This may be a limitation to its adoption and later implementation on grounds that it may sound time consuming to potential investors who need benefits as soon as possible. Having such a quickly developing and changing project also means its capital intensive at intervals where maximum benefits may have not been realized. The mission statement as regards quality can also serve as a principal hindrance to adoption of the project hence may need to be changed. Stating that the services offered go beyond the standards of organizations in it may scare away potential investors. The project needs also to operate as per the universally accepted standards since it’s a global investment focusing on both the online and offline audience. Before outsourcing for advertising platforms, at least have your own. Self sufficiency at the start is an important move towards attracting more investors. In the business world, companies always want to go for services that are all inclusive and may not call for further outsourcing. It’s also of great importance to give an averagely required income level for one to effectively make use of the project. Not just saying. Also carry out a cost benefit analysis. No investor will rush into making investments in a project whose benefits are not feasible. Is there anything that can be done to ensure language does not become such a barrier? Starting that the portal’s default language will be English and language is an important barrier especially for online medical call, as our physicians speak English, we will target english-speaking patients, makes a great market limitation impact that ay affect on the scope. İ tend to beliee something can be done to eliminate the language barrier. Will you not assure your clients of security of their information? Given the extensive use of the internet and haring cross the globe, it’s of utmost importance to assure clients of their security. Medical records need to be regarded with lots of privacy and confidentiality. What strategies are you putting across to ensure this? This is in connection with the ever rising issues of cyber crime and the compromised cyber security. How are you planning to ensure advanced search? Talk of SEO in relation to the target audience. How will SEO benefit the offline users of the system or rather what will be the link between the two categories of users? Will they receive equal services? Does the web marketing statistics mean this will be a mobile application? As per the statistics most of the target users are active users of the mobile devices. How does this affect the initial design of the system? Talk of the policies and procedures aimed at ensuring conformance to the universal standards of advertising as mentioned in your paper. Don’t you think the project is being over marketed and may lose on the original intention? Make it clear in the mission if the application is to be used as a mobile application. A good company will not settle on excuses for poor services delivered to the customers. Offer the customers the best marketing and payment options. Do not just discuss them. Give the companies a concrete reason to adopt the project for investment. Read More
