Effective Communication Blog 5th March, Introduction Communication is the process of transferring information between the sender and the receiver. To ensure proper communication and that the intended message has been delivered, there needs to be an effective means of communication such as oral means, electronic, visual or audio visual. To deliver the information effectively, the parties involved in the communication should apply some skills (Nielsen, 2008).This paper discusses some of these skills.
One of the skills that one should use to ensure effective communication is by allowing the other parties in the communication process to participate. You can involve other parties in the conversation by seeking their views on the topic of discussion and allowing them time to give their opinions. Equal participation in the communication process allows the other parties to offer their views on the topic being discussed, and also keeps the conversation interesting. The other communication skill that is important for effective communication is being polite to the other parties in the communication process.
Being polite to the other parties involves composing your messages in a way that will not offend the others. Being responsible in the process is likely to keep the conversation interesting, and also ensure that the conversation yields better results (Nielsen, 2008). Communication can only be effective if the conversation is based on facts rather than false information. The parties involved in the conversation should be honest amongst themselves by communicating using concrete information and details that are true.
This is important as it keeps the other parties interested in the conversation, and allows each of the party to express confidence in what is being discussed (Wood, 2009).ReferencesNielsen, J.
