In building the access control system, you must follow the four phases of developing the system. This is known as the systems development life cycle. The four phases are planning, analysis, design, and implementation). To help implement the system, the structure system design can be used in representation of the system concept in terms of processes and data representation. According to Techopedia (2012), the definition of structured System design is “ a set of standards for systems analysis and application design.

It uses a formal methodical approach to the analysis and design of information systems “This processes a roadmap for the development of functional specifications of the system. Structured System Design has different categories; these are “waterfall development and parallel development” In this particular case study, waterfall development can be used in implementing the control access system. The water model process involves System Conceptualization, System analysis, System design and Testing.
