 It is an area that seems to be important to a lot of companies.

 SAP may be fine but on the demos and papers on this site, I would not buy it.

 Epicor Manufacturing Express Edition.

 ERP for manufacturing processes and personnel can be monitored.

 Every area of a company’s manufacturing process is tracked from staff to materials

 It is important to know who is doing what, with what materials. If for example, staff are not available there could be a serious holdup. So knowing who is to do the job and when they have completed it is crucial.

 The demos and papers are very good and give a clear picture of the program. I would consider at least getting more information about this.

 Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System

 ERP for many areas of a company’s processes.

 All areas such as the IT budget, Staff, and data utilization.

 Tracking costs is important in every area of the company.

 There are no demos and a single white paper which is old as it’s written in 2005.

There is nothing about this program on the website other than the name. If I were thinking of buying, but I was a busy manager this would go no further.

This shows that the comparison website is only as good as the actual vendors allow it to be. If they do not want their data and demos on the site it is a waste of time trying for comparisons of one place which is useful for the manager of a company, but clearly not for the vendor.

Summary
The 2020Software comparison website has some great features you can look at demos and papers explaining different vendors’ products and initially decide which are most suitable for your company. But, the site can only be as good as the vendors allow, if they do not have a suitable demo and papers on the site then the site is simply wasting time. Some vendors appear to want the manager looking at their own site which is OK if the manager knows they exist, I can imagine many managers would not have a clue though. This is why there is a need for the comparison site and a re-think by vendors who do not allow people to see anything useful.

      The vendors who do have demos on the site vary; again I found it difficult to get a good comparison between SAP and Epicor for example. They both have demons but they were very different. The SAP site showed costs and ideas of the software but not a single screenshot of it in action. Epicor had a great demo which I think all the vendors should follow, it gave me a good idea of the software and how it works and I know I can contact them for more information and costs. So if they all did this then the comparison website would be very useful to managers of a company and should help sales of the vendor’s products. The main complaint I have about the comparison website itself is the number of times I had to register my details. The Hotmail account is loading with sales stuff which would irritate me as a busy manager.
