The paper 'Talent Management as a Human Resource Strategy for Gaining Competitive Advantage" is a good example of a human resources essay. Modern organizations, irrespective of their industry divisions, strive to attain superior competitive positioning as compared to others for ensuring long-term sustainability. In doing so, the organizations have to face many challenges, which relate not only to their internal environment but also to the external conditions of the market and environmental trends. Changes in the external environment, leading to corresponding changes within the internal organizational processes, have been consistent, with the gaining momentum of globalization, augmenting the level of internationalization and frequently altering business market conditions, which also affects the tastes as well as the preferences of the customers (Rabbi, Ahad, Kousar and Ali 208-214).

This in turn augments the need for organizational flexibility that can only be assured with efficient management of the workforce. Hence, it can be affirmed that human resources (indicating the workforce of an organization), play a key role in securing the competitive positioning of an organization. It is with this objective that the concept of talent management is being considered by organizational leaders, in order to gain better control on the human resources and ensure overall flexibility of the business to adjust with the external environment (Rabbi, Ahad, Kousar and Ali 208-214). Conceptually, the notion of talent management is regarded as the HR strategy that aids an organization to recognize, organize, enhance and retain talented personnel with the expectation of increase the overall organizational productivity. This particular concept has today become a buzzword in businesses. As this supports an organization to develop its overall performance aimed at long term sustainability prospects, effective talent management is also assumed as a tool to gain competitive advantages (Baartvedt 1-2).

Problem Statement. With continuously increasing pressure from internationalization, the intensity of competition is also rising at a rapid pace among global businesses. Organizations are today more aggressive in preserving their market exposure. They have also grown increasingly stressed to maintain internal strengths, treating it as the only mechanism to adjust with the external environmental fluctuations and attain organizational goals in a sustainable way.
