Name: Professor: Course: Date: Human Resource Paper HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT, BENEFITS AND ALLOWENCES IN ADNOC Introduction The management of the human resource is an important area for instance it caters for issues of workers in a firm. Some include medical insurance among others which include retirement benefits. It is for this reason that it should be given emphasis and in this case the ADNOC firm has been able to achieve this. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is company that deals in provision of chemicals. Its resource management sector has prevailed as it has established its human resource department. This is as seen through manpower planning which is executed through the human resource department. This is also included in the general policy in regard to employment. These are some of the advantage that has arisen from the human resource management sector. Types of allowances offered by ADNOC ADNOC as a company offers a number of allowances which include housing allowance, remote area allowances among others. These are among some of the benefits that the employees of this company are able to enjoy. Remote allowance is one of the benefits and is offered to grade 7 employees. This is especially to those that have been assigned to field jobs. Nationals of the United Arab Emirates are also not left behind. This allowance is also enjoyed by expatriates that are temporary employed in Abu Dhabi. The monthly allowance that is payable to the expatriates in the remote areas is equivalent to their work grade. This is the basis of the amount that such employees are given. The same criterion applies for the United Arab Emirates employees. These employees are also awarded this allowance even when the employees are on leave or absent at work. However, the payment of this allowance may be temporarily suspended to employees based on site when on an academic leave. This criterion also applies when the same employees are on leave and are not to be awarded any amount of this allowance. Housing allowance is also another benefit that should be incorporated in the future plans of this company. The aim of the housing benefit is that, it provides accommodation services for the employees of this company. Eventually, the housing benefit enables the ADNOC employees to be able to counter accommodation challenges. It has also enabled the workers to be able to meet their rental costs. Reasons for choosing the above mentioned allowances The aim of selecting housing allowance as a field of discussion is because workers need a roof to lay their head at the end of the day. The other reasons for the housing benefit is to enable the worker afford house rent. This even makes things much easier for the workers as they can also save some cash considering that, part of the amount that the employees are to pay for their house rent is taken care of by the house allowance. New employees who have not earned as much such that they can be able to afford house rent are offered accommodation. Eventually, such employees do not end up stranded when new at work. These employees are also able to fit in their new environment and comfortably do their job. On the other hand the remote based allowance has turned to be of benefit to the workers of the ADNOC Company. This is more so because it has served compensate the workers who have not had the chance to have a conducive environment to work in. At the same time, the remote based area allowance has served to cater for social inconveniences. This is a reason as to why this field has been chosen for discussion. The workers in remote environments are alienated from those who are based in the urban localities of the ADNOC Company. This allowance thus serves as an incentive to motivate the workers in the remote areas to work. At the same time it also serves to cater for the resources that require financing. How the developments may be applied to other countries The application of the housing and the remote area allowances is not as difficult and requires cooperation between the workers and the human resource departments. At the same time, companies should also be able to honour the code of conduct that they have put in between the workers and the companies themselves. This is one of the ways through which companies or countries can be able to develop. For instance, countries should ensure that they notify their workers of the penalties as well as other violations that exist in the codes that they have put in place. This also includes determining the most appropriate measures to take for the violators of these codes. The achievement of the housing as well as remote area benefits does not only lie on the countries but the workers have a role to play. Workers on their hands should not be ignorant about the rules that have been out in place in regard to the provision of these allowances. They should also be able to point out cases of mismanagement which may impede the delivery of these services. This in turn will serve to ensure that the development of these services is achieved not only by the United Arab Emirates but by other countries too. Some of the things that workers should avoid include absence from work without notifying their managers. The reason for this is that, it interrupts their sequence of work which in turn retards production. Conclusion The achievements of the developments that are within the human resource require both the participation of employees as well as companies. The ADNOC Company has played a role in ensuring that it is able to attain these developments. This also includes being able to ensure that its workers are able to access worker benefits such as the house allowance. This eventually ensures that the employees work in a conducive and comfortable environment. On the other hand, employees also have their role to play for instance they should be able to know their rights. They also should be aware of the penalties of violating the codes. Ignorance makes employees to miss some of the benefits that they are entitled to as well as avert getting into messes.
