Organizations are looking forward to spread their network and develop their business by opening up establishments at different parts of the world. Firefly is looking towards the same and is searching for an opportunity that enables them to grow and increase their market share. The company as a result has found out Saudi Arabia as a destination that will help them to ensure that they are able to develop their chain and also ensure business from different parts of the world. This makes it important that the organization realizes the importance of cultural differences that exist between the countries and devise a strategy which ensure hiring of the correct manpower. The paper thereby presents the role of human resource manager in understanding the difference in culture that prevails across country and to develop a team which will ensure that the goals of the organization is achieved in Saudi Arabia. Firefly which is moving to a new country where it hardly has prior experience needs to first of all understand the culture that is prevalent in the country. Culture is something which is ingrained in people on the basis of the country they belong. Since, every country has a different culture so Firefly needs to understand the local culture and mould their services accordingly so that people are able to perceive it as the one which belongs to their own culture and associate themselves with it (Innah, 2009). This will help Firefly to come in terms with the local culture and will ensure that they are able to associate themselves directly with the people. This is supported by a study which points that people have different culture and customs so that pattern of influencing people is different and organizations need to identify those based on the group which the person belongs (Ralston, Hallinger, Egri & Naothinsuhk, 2005). This presents an important finding for Firefly who can develop their services based on the custom requirements of Saudi Arabia and ensure that customer satisfaction is the highest. This brings forward an important finding for Firefly based on which they will be able to mould their services and ensure better customer satisfaction. Firefly needs to understand the local conditions prevalent in Saudi Arabia and get them transformed so that the local people start to favour the company (Ellis, 2001). This will make it easy for Firefly to buy and sell services among the masses and ensure that they are able to achieve the business they were looking towards tapping from Saudi Arabia. Firefly along with it needs to ensure that they design their services and develop a structure and support system which ensure better flexibility (Aharoni, 1996) and matching the actual requirements of the organization in Saudi Arabia. The role of the human resource manager as a result magnifies and having the flexibility will provide the human resource manager the liberty they are looking at. This will help them to mould the services and ensure better coordination with the customers. The human resource manager at Firefly needs to develop their subsidiaries by understanding the typologies prevalent in the local condition (Enright & Subramanian, 2008). This will help Firefly to bring the required changes that is needed with regard to culture, caste and creed that is prevalent in Saudi Arabia. This will help Firefly to shape up their services better and ensure a continuous pool of suppliers, customers, and employees. The human resource manager at Firefly needs to understand the local culture of Saudi Arabia and build their strategies and helps in capacity creation and proper utilization of that capacity (Enright & Subramanian, 2008). This will help Firefly to ensure that they are able to gain advantage by spreading their wings in Saudi Arabia and by understanding the local conditions they are able to create a space in the minds of the local consumers. This will help Firefly to build a long term image and the transformation to different culture elsewhere in the world will be easy for them. Firefly which is looking towards solidifying their customer base in Saudi Arabia needs to ensure that their services are shaped according to the local conditions so that customer satisfaction is high (Kundu & Merchant, 2008). This will ensure that the company is able to build long term relations and bring the changes in their services based on customs thereby ensuring better customer response and regular supply of employees for the company. This is seen in the Middle East. The region is dominated by followers of Islam. So F coming with a service that goes along with the custom of that country helps to build relations. Those companies are favoured and they find it easy to market themselves. This is a concern for company as it can backfire. A miscalculation or interpretation might result in ruining the name. This would put a stop for the company to grow in countries which are similar as they loose reputation. Thus understanding the local typologies helps multinationals to pave a path which they can follow for their success. This is an area which Firefly needs to delve into and design their manner of services accordingly. Firefly needs to look towards cultural sensitive factors to be able to win consumers (Slawomir, 2010). This will help Firefly to build loyal customers. This is a special function that the human resource manager has to perform. The manager has to ensure that the work force working in close proximity to the customers understand the wants and needs of the customers. Timely changes and modifications based on it should be done so that the customer feels satisfied. Doing so will ensure that the customer is able to feel part of the organization and associating themselves with the organization will make it easy for Firefly to have loyal customers. Firefly should also look towards ensuring that the goods and services are manufactured based on the local conditions despite research being carried on a global scale (Zeller, 2000). This will help Firefly to ensure that they are able to develop new product and services based on the requirements of Saudi Arabia. The role of human resource department is vital as they come in contact with the customers so they need to provide the necessary inputs that will help the organization to develop services and products matching the local requirements. The human resource manager should ensure that the talent hired by them are people from the local community as they will understand the local people better. This will also help Firefly to ensure that the organization adheres to the labour laws prevalent in Saudi Arabia as hiring the talent based on the local labour laws will ensure efficiency in the hiring process and will enable Firefly to ensure that they are able to fill future vacancies from employees within the organization. This will reduce the dependence on outside sources and enable Firefly to function better. This has been further substantiated by the fact that employment is mostly local according to the local condition but strategies might be prepared keeping in mind the global and local condition on a global level (Castells, 2001). This is a strategy which the human resource manager at Firefly should look towards adopting as it will ensure that the talent that has been hired understands the local culture and customs better. This will enable Firefly to make timely changes in their working plan and ensure that they are able to achieve higher degree of efficiency. Companies who are able to mould and transform their working environment are able to create demand for a product among different target groups (Kenway & Bullen, 2001). This is something which Firefly should target at because transforming and bringing about changes which helps to improve efficiency in the working environment will help to create the required infrastructure based on which Firefly can understand the local culture better. Firefly by understanding the local responsiveness will be able to develop facilities which help the local residents and at the same time add to their coffers (Monibot, 2001). This will help the local residents as it will ensure development of infrastructure and provide the necessary push which will ensure better facilities for the local residents. While multinationals look into the local responsiveness the most important and guiding is culture. Every factor seems to surround it. It is also seen that local customs remains strong and a driving force for multinationals to succeed (Brahm, 2005). These changes in culture have been strong. It has been constantly changing but the roots have remained the same. Understanding those is of prime importance as it will help to make strategies. This gets further intensified by migration which has taken place and caused different culture to integrate and mix thereby making it more difficult for multinationals to understand the local responsiveness. (Brahm, 2005) Companies need to develop tactics to cope with it. Understanding it helps as a guiding force towards success. Firefly thus has a long road ahead and needs to understand the local culture and bring about the necessary changes in their working environment so that it matches the requirements of Saudi Arabia. Also looking into the human resource angle and hiring the correct talent will prove beneficial for Firefly and provide them the necessary impetus to conduct business in Saudi Arabia. This will help them to ensure better business and ensure easy adaptability to the conditions. References Aharoni, Y. (1996). The organisation of global service of MNC.
