The key management skills that organizations will require in the next few years and how these skills are best acquired. Management refers to the process whereby the managers have the things in the organization done by as well as through the people. The managers must use the best ways to as well as skills to ensure they achieve the best outcome in the management. A manager is a leader meaning that the leadership style that a manager will use will add to their skills of management (Finlay, 2000). It is these skills that the manager will apply that will ensure the management will overcome the problems of the organization as well as ensure the organization will achieve its goals and objectives. Some of the skills of management that are very basic includes the planning, delegation, management of one’s self, meeting the management, delegation, internal communication, decision making and problem solving. A manager to be effective must be well versed with the seven processes of solving the problems as well as decision making. It is the duty of the manager to make informed decisions which are also based on a good feasibility report as well as very well documented facts. A manager should also be able to use a standard way of solving the problems that are facing the organization that he or she is leading (Hill & Jones, 2007). The manager should also be able to have a trend of the main problems that have been facing the organization for at least the last six months so as to be able to come up with a lasting solution for all of them. The planning skill means that the manager must be able to have the objectives, the mission, the vision, the core values the strategies the resources and the budget of the organization with him and all must be operational. He also needs to be able to apply the eight steps of planning in the organization or the business. The plan that is done for the organization must also have very SMART strategies and objectives meaning they should be very specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and time bound. Also there should be the aspect of accountability on the side of management as well as the issue of evaluation. The management must also be able to delegate duties effectively and efficiently. This means that a manager with the right skill of delegation will be able to know the benefits of delegation of duties as well as will be able to know who in the organization has what kind of capability so as to ensure that the delegation is done to the right people. The managers must also be able to know the nine steps of delegation of duties in the organization. The skills involving the basics internal communication entails the management being in a position to know what should be involved in the reports that will be done by the organization, being able to know who should gain access top the reports and who should be in a position to write the reports (Hill & Jones, 2007). It is also the responsibility of the manager to know what every regular or monthly meeting with the employees entail in its agenda. Also the skill involves the ability of the mangers to be able to know how the key employees will be informed of their regular meetings. The issue of management of the meetings involves ensuring the right people are included in the meetings, the agendas of the meetings are also designed the right way, the meeting time is also kept and finally that he activities of the meetings are objective oriented as well as the fact that the challenges that are involved in the meetings are well taken care of. Management of oneself as a skill entails the ability of a manager to be able is able to know the roles of the first-time managers, the ability to manage his or her own personal stress, to define his personal time for work, ability to manage the stress, the ability to identify a mentor who he or she can look up to for guidelines as well as the ability to differentiate the matters that needs attention in the organization in terms of their agency (Finlay, 2000). These skills can not only be acquired in a classroom during a training but more so in the field during the practice or experience. Investors in People Investor in People refers to one of the management tools used in the achievement of the best management. The framework has a total of three Principles. Planning involves the development of the strategies that will be used in the improvement of the performance of the organization in terms of the objectives and goals. Reviewing entails the process of evaluation as well adjustment of the strategies. The three principles also involve ten indicators that are used of which each of the indicators is further sub-divided into a number of requirements which are thirty nine in total. The requirements of the standards and their benefits to the organization This is one of the most effective investment tools for any organization as well as businesses. It is aimed at the advancement of the organizations performances basically through their employees. It is very helpful to the organization in the achievement of the objectives as well as in the development of the human resource of the organization. One of the main standards of the tool is the three principles of which each and every organization must subscribe to and has some indicators which must be the organizations key target. It provides a very flexible kind of framework for use by the organization. It is also very helpful in the process of mirroring the organization’s plan cycle ensuring that it is very clear as well as easy for it to follow and also implement the plan that has been put forth for the organization (Rao, 2008). It also enables the organization to have strategies which improves the performance of the organization, ensures that process of learning as well development is very well planned, it also ensures that the strategies that are made for the management of human resource promotes equality. It helps the managers to be effective and efficient in their management and leadership skills, the people are also involved in the management of the organization and finally the investment in the people is geared towards the improvement of the organizations performance. What is e-learning E-learning refers to the use of the technology which enables the people to be able to learn any time and anywhere they wish to. It entails the process of learning, delivering information as well as expertise to people even at a very large distance from each other. The innovations in terms of technology as well as the issue of business and organization enlargement have brought the issue of e-learning. This is also due to the fact that the management of the organization can not afford the time to bring together all the employees of the organization together for a training section and so the management may opt to post the training information on the website for the employees to access it and then get the desired knowledge. This means that the management’s main aim of introducing the e-learning is to be able to overcome the main challenge of time, distance and also limited resources. Also it enables the people to be bale to learn at different times as well as ways. There are different methods of e-learning namely the a synchronous e-learning like self places and the discussion, synchronous e-learning like the virtual classroom, chat, video conferencing, audio conferencing, shared whiteboard, instant messaging, application sharing and finally the developing and management e-learning like the knowledge management, learning the contents of the management systems and learning the management system. The main pros and cons of e-learning There are a number of advantages that are associated with the e-learning as well as disadvantages. The following are the main advantages of the e-learning. The class work can be easily scheduled to fit the professional as well as personal requirements; it is one of the best ways to reduce the cost of travelling as well as time to school, the learns have the advantages of being able to choose the learning materials which best suits their interests as well as level of knowledge, the learners have the comfort of learning anytime they are able to acess the computer as well as the internet, the self paced kind of learning gives the learners an opportunity to learn at their own pace, there a great possibility of flexibility to be able to join the discussions on the boa rd. the learns are able to use different learning styles and the learning are able to develop different computer skills (William, 2001). On the other hand there are a number of disadvantages of e-learning like the fact that the learners who are not self motivated or are very slow learners will not be able to catch up faster. The learners may take time to get used to the structures as well as the materials being used for learning. There is no interaction for the students themselves, the instructor mat not always be available when he or she is demanded, there can be inconvenience when the internet and the connections are very slow and finally there can be a learning curve on the process of managing of learning software (Bryn & John, 2006). One of the training need that can be in need for a e-learning solution is in the organization where there are very few expertise meaning that the organization can not afford the time to release the employees to go to calls. On the other hand the knowledge through the learning is very important. This means that for such a challenge the solution is introducing e-learning to the employees whereby they are able to get the training as well as be able to carry out their daily routine. Outdoor training activity Out door training activities are very much in use in the training of the middle managers all over the world. It should be noted that though it has a number of advantages in the sense that it breaks the monotony of the trainees being trained indoors as well as making it friendlier since it is not done in so much a formal manner, it can also have some other short comings (Bill, 1996). This is especially considering the issues of ethics and safety. It would be a very good experience if the training is done during the summer period since the trainees will enjoy the good weather. Some of the following are the main cons of the outdoor training and these factors must be very well considered before the activity is undertaken. Bad weather like the winter season can really interfere with the health as well as the safety of the trainees. This is because of the cold weather as well as the possibility of glaciations. The environment safety in terms of the reception by the community of the surrounding where the activity will be held. This is because in case the community is very hostile then it means that the activity can be serious interfered with as well as the safety of the trainees. The accessibility of infrastructure before as well as after the meeting by the trainees is also a factor of concern and the sanitation in the neighbourhood, the cost –time effectiveness is also to be considered. Another very important concern is that the materials and the equipment to be used for the activity may get very dirty, slimy, rusty, or even have mould growing on them as well as the issue of bugs taking some residence in them. This is likely to occur in the winter season. If it happens then it means that there will be a very serious damage on the equipments of which some are very expensive to buy as well as maintain (Ken, 2006). This means that the cost of materials and equipment maintenance is also very high as far as outdoor training is concerned. Also if done during the cold weather it would really make the participants suffers because of the issue of muscle pulls. Also it is very likely that the equipment may also not be used even after being set in an outdoor training meaning it is a waste if time. Finally, it will be very time consuming as well as finances since it will require some extra effort in those areas for the planning of the event.
