Biblical View” Response Paper The world of business is faced with many challenging situations that require sound judgment and reasoning for acceptable choices. Additionally, there are many ethical situation where truthfulness is exalted above shrewdness. Getting a resource that can effectively teach acceptable business conduct is difficult, except for the Bible. This divine book contains a wealth of teachings, applicable in almost all business situation, may it be compensations, honesty, or truthfulness in business among others (Brott, 2008).

Rewards are acknowledged even in the Bible as a fair compensation for what one has done. The Bible is full of teachings on rewards that should be fair and just (Deuteronomy 25:4). In most of Jesus’ teachings, one will be rewarded for what they have done. In business, this sets a yardstick for just and consistent compensations. The same principles are applicable to person-focused pay systems. Skills are acknowledged in the Bible the same way they are acknowledged in the business world as basis of competency-based pay.

In 2 Chronicles 2:3, Huram-Abi is preferentially sent because he is “a man of great skill.” NIV (“BibleGateway.com,” n.d.). In the same way, Ecclesiastes 10:10 states that “If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success.” NIV.Those in leadership, according to the Word of God, should lead in all diligence and Colossians 3:23 admonish everyone that “whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” (AKJV). As such, everything one does should be to perfection and justly.
