It offers several healthy fast food products like burgers, wraps, sandwiches, fries and healthy soft drinks. The organization is planning to hire effective employees in order to provide supreme customer service to the target customers. Major Customers Young people and kids are considered as the major target customers of the organization. Purpose and Goals The organizational goals are discussed below: The ABC Food Plaza will fulfill the needs and demand of customers through high quality food products. The employees of the organization will try to retain potential customers and target new customers through effective customer service. The organization will undertake sustainable business operation strategies in order to overcome several conflicts. Business priorities for 2014: 1) The organization will expand its outlets throughout the country in next three years to fulfill the market demand. 2) The organization will focus on business profitability in order to break even within three years of its business operations. Organizational chart of ABC Food Plaza The number of employees is 50 while company mainly targets the youth. The organizational chart is a sort of diagram that reveals the relation of a specific employee with another employee in an organization. This means the CEO or the director of the organization with all other employees of the departments such as strategy department, finance department, manufacture, Human resource, planning, operations and many others. In ABC Food Plaza, hierarchical organizational chart is followed in which, all sorts of plans and innovative ideas are given from the top-most authority. The same is presented in a graphical order as in the appendix. Impact of External Factors on Business Activities Political The government of the UAE is motivating the new entrepreneurs to start their business as it can help the country to reduce the challenges like increasing unemployment rate. Recently the government developed several policies for the fast food chains. Economical Global economic environment has been highly affected due to recent financial crisis and economic recession. People are trying to avoid the consumption of high priced products. Social Fast foods are quite popular among the people of UAE. Slowly and gradually, the demand for healthy food products is significantly increasing. Technological The organization is going to operate in a technologically developed country. The organization can get the access of advanced technology for the business purposes. Structure and Functions of the Organization The organization has board of directors, president and vice-president at the top of the structure. According to the decentralization structure, the managers of all the departments have the decision making authority. The organization has four functions, such as sales and marketing, operation, human resource and accounts. Impact of Different functions on performance of the Organization All the functions within the organization will work together in order to optimize the organizational performance. Effective strategy development of marketing managers and in-store operation activities will help ABC Food Plaza to meet the satisfaction level of the customers. Culture of the Organization The organization is following decentralizing structure. The organization believes that effective and employee friendly organization culture can develop a conflict free workplace environment. According to Charles Handy, the renowned management visionary also stated organizational culture as the set of rules and regulations followed by the employees of the organization so as to enhance its effectiveness in the market among other rivals. It also helps in maintaining an environment of uniformity and homogeny resulting in improvement of the relationships within the employees of the organization. It also helps in improving the productivity of the employees along with its performance level as well. This helps in amplifying the revenues and ROI of the organization in the market. The reputation and brand image of the organization also gets enhanced which is extremely essential to sustain in this competitive market. Side by side, it also helps in amplifying the organizational value and equity as well. Moreover, the loyalty of the organization within the minds of the customers also gets enhanced resulting in improvement of the range of customers among others contenders of the market. Charles Handy also presented four types of culture such as role, task, power and person among which role culture is also known as bureaucratic culture where division of the employees are extremely prominent. Due to which, the level of conflicts also gets reduced to a significant extent as compared to others in the market. So it is highly preferred. Thus it might be stated that culture helps in improving the internal environment of the organization resulting in enhancement of its loyalty among other rival players. Activity B Organization’s Strategy The strategy of “ABC Food Plaza” is to provide healthy fast foods with efficient customer service. The organization has hired and retained effective and skilled employees to meet customer satisfaction level. Employee motivation and job satisfaction are key HR strategies. Several leading organizations are trying to focus on skilled workforce to maintain their competitive position within the industry. HR Activities support organization’s strategy The human resource management department should support the goals and strategies of the organizations through business reputation, business profitability, principles and ethics. Following three human resource activities will support the organization’s strategy. First of all, it is important to realize and analyze the four basic dimensions of human resource management. These dimensions are organization, people, process and system. The management of the organization should understand the organizational objectives. Secondly, the human resource management are trying to recruit skilled and effective employees who avail the knowledge about job roles. This HRM activity can help the organization to minimize their training time and cost. HR Professional’s Activities HR professional can support the managers and staffs in several ways. First of all, the HR professional works closely with the line managers. It is highly important for the professional to observe the decision making process and strategy development process of the managers to understand their potentiality, competence and ability. Secondly, the human resource professional should try to understand that motivated employees can perform effectively comparing to the others. Therefore, it is important for the human resource professionals to develop effective policies, such as proper recruitment, selection, training & development, performance evaluation and compensation distribution to keep the employees motivated (Harrison, 2005, p.210). Ultimately, it will help the organization to maximize its business profit. The Role of HR Function Starting from the recruitment, an effective human resource department ensures right people for right job after the needs for training and development according to the skill and competence of the employees are effectively understood by the human resource professional. On the other hand, according to Ulrich model, the human resource manager of the organization plays a very important role within an organization. Due to which, he or she need to change his roles and responsibilities so as to cope up with the up-coming challenges of this competitive scenario. According to Ulrich model, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the organization, the human resource manager needs to be an administrative expert, so that he or she might manage the human resources of the organization in an effective way. Along with this, he or she might also implement varied types of rules and regulations for the benefit of the employees so as to enhance their level of morale and performance within an organization. Moreover, it might also help in improvement of the organizational productivity, profit margin and ROI in the market among other rivals. Along with this, the human resource manager of the organization might also try to implement varied types of employee oriented training programs so as to enhance their level of knowledge and inner skills. Consequently, Ulrich model also describes the human resource managers to manage the changes in an effective way so as to maintain its renownedness in the market. It may be done by recruiting perfect type of employees comprising of best suited qualifications as per their assigned roles in the organization. Side by side, the best type of technology such as information technology might be implemented within the organization so as to enhance the speed of their operations. The human resource manager might try to assist the line managers in order to solve varied types of issues. This might help in betterment of the organizational fame and status thereby amplifying the loyalty and trust of the target customers. It is extremely essential for an organization to retain its supremacy in the market among other rivals. Moreover, the human resource managers might also try to help and develop the inner skills and talents of the employees by implementing varied types of strategies. In order to do so, the manager might try to speak directly with the leader of the employees to know their pitfalls so that their level of grievances towards the organizational policies and regulations might get reduced to a certain extent as compared to other organizations.
