Extract of sample "Middle Ages and the Renaissance"

There was a difference between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in different ways, for example, art, the power of the church, and literature (Andrea, 2009). The biggest difference was however with art, where the renaissance artists focused more on religion and human beauty. The middle-age artists were more focused on gothic material which had no much detail of life in their work. The art in middle age was done for fun and it never required expertise but that of the Renaissance was done by big artists and every single piece could represent so much meaning from different angles.

Middle age art was blocky while that of renaissance artist was more lifelike as they studied their art with perspective, how things look like at a distance, and the difference when looking closely making their work have greater meaning and depth (Duiker and Spielvogel, 2010). Some of the famous artist in the renaissance period includes Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael. Their work has been passed through generations impressing the world with the profound meaning of human beauty.
