Martin Luther Activist History In this research, I will discuss the history of Martin Luther King Jr. who was an African American activist in the U.S.A The exciting thing about the topic was to know how a black American would be an activist in the U.S. In those days, America was said to be the American favored state, and blacks had no voice. He brought to end the segregation of African and American race in the south. Martin Luther was so young to be an activist, but he was so determined to carry on his duties as activist and risk his life.

Martin advocated for nonviolent demonstrations. He educated the southern people on peaceful movements, civil rights and as well politics. He desired to be diplomatic in carrying out his campaigns on call for equality on African American.

Martin was so persisting in his work and determined to achieve his targets. In Montgomery Bus Boycott, where an African American was put in prison for failure to give up her seat for an American he called for a lobby group. Boycotting was to carry on for 382 days of harassment and walking to working places. King being the leader was attacked but did not give up. Public transport had a severe economic problem since there was no business for them. Martin was able to get support from other African churches just after he formed the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC).

He was able to go to many places across the country speaking on nonviolent protests. He had a meeting with politicians, religious leaders and other activists to show how devoted he was in work. In August 1963, Martin marched to Washington with his followers and many people came to listen as he gave the speech on “I have a Dream”. He was courageous enough to speak out his mind candidly. People began to question the treatment of African American people leading to enactment of Civil Rights Act of1964 which eliminated all forms of discrimination against the black American people.

In 1964, he was awarded a Noble Peace Prize. He further continued with his mission later Civil Voting Right Act of 1965 was established. Later on in his protest he encountered critiques that made his combine segregation and poverty to win support. In 1968, he was assassinated as he was about to join a protest. Martin had a dream that he had always worked to achieve. This site is better than the other sites for it does not have confusing statements.
