Education The two article analyze fundamental factors that affect the quality of education in the country. As the population of the country increases so does the demand for education. This implies that the educational facilities in the country must increase both their capacities and quality in order to meet the growing demand. The articles therefore inhibit myriad similarities as they analyze the features of the current education system thereby providing suggestions in solving some of the perceived problems “the numerous stakeholders in the education sector must therefore carry out effective changes that will ensure that the education system in the country is commensurate to the improving lifestyle in the country” (Jeff 02). This way, the two reports raise myriad factors that shape the nature of education and the trends in the rising demand. Additionally, they analyze some of the education acts formulated by past regimes in the country with the effects of such policies. The increase in the population of the country coupled with the improving economy has consequently resulted in an improving lifestyle for the citizenry thereby instigating a change in the demand for educational services in the country. Such trend implies that schools, colleges and universities in the country must carry out extensive changes in their structures in order to accommodate the increasing demand for the services in the country. On the need for general education introduces an important concept in the sector as it seeks to investigate the essence of general education in the country. The economic and technological state of the society currently requires a particular degree of enlighten for the populace to survive. This refers to a type of education that every individual in the country requires in order to survive in the American society. As a basic education, the article analyses features of the demand thereby information the formation and management of such education. Just as the name suggests, general education targets the population indiscriminate of their backgrounds. Such are basic education possibly up to the high school level. At such levels, the learners obtain adequate interpersonal and communication skills that can enable them make a living in the society. However, just as the name suggests the demand is likely to be high for such education in the country owing to the rising population. The government must therefore consider intricate features of the education in order to ensure that the quality of the education is not only attainable but also equally appropriate. The quality of education relies on such factors as the availability of effectively trained teachers, availability of adequate schools, and the availability or learning materials that enhance the learning process. The government must therefore formulate and implement policies that uphold such features in order to ensure that the quality of basic education is commensurate to the dynamic technological and cultural features of the society. The availability of teachers for example is a fundamental feature that will influence the quality of education in the country. The government must hire more teachers and pay them adequately in order to motivate them to uphold the quality of education required by the populace. Besides the number of teachers, the federal government must work in tandem with the state governments to ensure that the number of school in the country meet the growing demand. This implies that the government must develop new schools, colleges and universities in the country with the view of meeting the growing demand. By constructing new schools, the government ensures that that the education system in the country meets the growing demand for such education. With the construction of new schools is likely to raise the challenge of new learning equipment and resources. Such resources as laboratories and libraries are fundamental in improving the quality of education in a country. The governments must work in unison in order to ensure that the new schools have appropriate facilities and equipment that will sustain the quality of education the country demands. Past administrations in the country have formulated and implemented different policies with the view of improving the quality of education in the country. The Bush administration for example passed the No Child Left behind Act. The act sought to improve the quality of basic education in the country by ensuring that every child in the country received quality education irrespective of its backgrounds. President George W Bush envisioned a society in which every American child received quality education despite its economic and cultural backgrounds. Through the act, the federal government would improve funding for schools according to their performance. The new act sought to improve the quality of education in the country besides increasing the number of children accessing education in the country. while the number of children accessing education in the country would increase, the President did not consider particular features of the education sectors since the country currently experiences an improvement in general school performance while the quality of graduates from such educational facilities continue to depress. This implies that the act is an example of many other similar policies that were to make the education system better in the country but instead deteriorated the standards of education thereby worsening the situation. Among the features that the act did not encompass include the system of assessment in order to ensure that the students passed their exams. Additionally, the act did not create an effective medium for the training and recruitment off teachers in order to ensure that the quality of teachers in the country represented the changing demand for education in the country. Instead, the act attached more importance of the performance of the learners a feature that has consequently motivated the teachers to collude with the students thereby improving the performance of the students in the final exams in order to secure improved funding from the federal government without necessarily ensuring that the students were as equipped as their performance portrayed. This implied that the education system has thus turned into a cartel, which strives to improve the performance of the learners in order to, secure more funding while disregarding the quality of education in the country. The coordination between the different stakeholders in the education system in the country is essential in ensuring that the quality of education is commensurate to the performance of the students. As the government rolls out such effective plans that seek to improve the accessibility of education in the country, it must consider pertinent issues that affect the quality of education since such affect the quality of workforce the country develops. The government must reconsider the quality of teachers in the country by revising the standards for teacher qualifications in order to ensure that the teachers in the country have the skills and knowledge to teach effectively. Additionally, the coordination of the final exams must strive to represent different features of both the learners and the education system thereby ensuring that the performance of the students is proportionate to the quality of education in the respective schools. The second article, pecuniary value of education, investigates the value of education in the country. The value of education relies on its role in shaping the future of the society. Most of the high school graduates join different colleges and universities thereby pursuing different careers. The basic education that such learners obtain from their respective schools should provide them with the skills and intellectual capacity to conceptualize the concepts taught in the institutions of higher learning. In fact, the performance pattern in universities and colleges should portray a resemblance in the high school performance. Through effective coordination, the country’s human resource should steer the economic growth in the country a feature that dictates that the government must safeguard the quality of education in the country in order to foster the economic growth. Furthermore, the high school graduates integrate with the rest of the society as they strive to find their place in the fast growing society. This implies that the education system in the country should provide the learners with adequate skills to enable them coexist with the rest of the society. The value of education relies on the ability of the system to equip a learners with skills to enable them coexist with the rest of the people in the society.
