American in the 50s Following the World War II, there were several social and cultural changes in the United States. According to Rosenberg et al (2013), minors of the Negro race were before denied right of entry to public schools on the basis of nonsegregation. They could not be allowed to attend any school that white children attended. However, this changed after World War II. Every individual was then granted to access equal quality education under the amended doctrine of the laws of the United States.

People from all races in h United States became well educated and more civilized than before. There were also some significant cultural changes in mass consumption and image culture. People started to dress in civilized manner and the majority began to live subject to the popular culture unlike in times of the mass culture. The major causes of the social and cultural changes can be attributed to mass media innovations and urbanization of the industrial revolution (Rosenberg et al 2013). These brought about values that influence society and in various ways.

This has then carried on up to date and therefore increasing interconnection of culture and social values among people in the United States. The Cold War though did effect these changes. The Cold War made people to know their rights and this led to the civil rights movement in the United States (Vowinckel et al 2012). The Civil Rights Act was then established to protect every individual from any form of discrimination. Work citedRosenberg, Norman L. Liberty, Equality, Power: A History of the American People.
