Although most of the incidences involving racism are sometimes considered as less sensitive, there are several cases that are relatively offensive. The colored community across the US continues to face racial discrimination in places of work, school, government and private sectors, and criminal justice among other areas. Between early1900s and 1960s was characterized with core improvement in relation to domestic violence against women in the societies of the US. Major rights were awarded to women across the different states of the US. Feminist movements were formed to fight for gender equality and acts of male chauvinism. Women could charge their husbands for assault in a court of law. Domestic violence cases are commonly presented in courts across the country. It is also during this period that cases that regarded to domestic violence were transferred from the criminal court to civil court. In the civil courts, only the civil procedures could apply. In this forum held in 1970s, white women came together with the African American and started talking about violence on the female gender in forms of sexual assault and spouse abuse. In these forums women found the three factors that led to issues of domestic violence of the women society throughout the country. These contributing factors of domestic violence as attested by the womens groups formed in the 1970s include; economic disparity, the traditional roles of gender and criminal justice system. It is interesting that at this time, the women did not hold the men accountable for the vice. Only women empowerment was evident during forums held in the 1970s. Domestic violence was not identified as an act of crime until the entry into 1990s. This was a milestone to issues of women as main or occasional culprits of domestic violence. In most states of the US, domestic violence was subsequently criminalized. This protected women from all forms of domestic violence by the men in the American societies. Women sensitization on issues of equality were mainly geared towards achieving a better way of protecting the women from domestic violence. The US history on civil immigration policy has commonly been characterized by a recurring failure to have a certain limit of the number of immigrants as well as control the type of immigrants who come to the United States. Due to this, despite the traditional norm that the US is a classic country of immigration, the issue of immigration has mostly been controversial in majority of all the periods in the history of the US. Among the sensitive areas of discussion is the issue of racial discrimination, even in allowing immigrants into the country. The US history shows that the immigration policy only favored the Europeans to move into the American continent and establish new lives. The African Americans living in the US were only sold into slave barons to provide work force for the plantations in the US. This shows the level of racial discrimination that the people of African American descent faced in the years of slavery, subsequently resulting to massive immigration of the African people. Immigration From legal perspective, there are number of legislative acts that were passed in order to guide on issues of immigration. The laws were initially enacted by colonial governments that existed before America’s independence, and later addressed in the newly created government of the United States. The national amendments or prohibitions to Citizenship was among legislative acts that were used to restrict some groups from moving into the US. A series of amendments were enacted between 1800 and early 1900s limiting migration of certain groups, mainly basing their criterion on issues of race. Most of these legislative acts were meant to address the Asian immigrants, who were commonly defined as people who did not have a distinctive race. It is essential to note that these enactments were not definite about people of Chinese, Indians, Japanese and Philippines origin as they did not seem to present a similar characteristics as a single racial group. A good examples of these acts include the Chines exclusion act of 1882, and Immigration Act of Asian Indians of 1917. Women suffrage The election exercise in the late 19th century and early 20th century characterized by a rather unusual group of people in the voting exercise. This was changing for the first time for the Americans to exercise their voting right after over 100 years of campaigns by activists and reformers. The decision by the National Association to oppose Woman Suffrage is obviously an indication of their decision to approve the participation of women in voting. The position of the National Association to oppose the Woman Suffrage could be attributed to a number of reasons. The various reasons as expressed by the Association have a strong orientation of the religion. The reasons given by the association for their disapproval of woman suffrage consider the Christian and Islam scripture on the role of women in the society. The extension of suffrage to women is an ideology that does not concur with the general understanding of Christianity. Part 3 Truman doctrine was delivered by President Harry Truman in 1947, following the activities of Soviet Union in Eastern Europe. Truman doctrine aimed at establishing a force to suppress the possibility of communist insurgency in European countries of Turkey and Greece. This Doctrine was created as a response to a crisis propelled by the communist aggression in Greece and Turkey. The British government had been keeping its troops in Greece in order to help the government of Greece resist its communist rebels. However, in February of 1947, the British announced that it could no longer keep its troops in Greece since it could not afford. It is after this, time that President considered the threat of the communists, and felt that would they take over another country. The Truman doctrine had various disadvantages as United States provided support to nations encountered by communist encroachments. Various countries were able to practice democratic systems of governments, which are ideal in providing accountability, transparency and fairness in a country. However, Truman doctrine undermined activities and preferences of some countries, hence plunging them into deeper political and economic problems. There are some allegation that the United States wasted a lot of its resources in whole mission of trying to stop the aggressions of the communists. Finally, marked the entry of the Cold War between the US and Soviet Union, who were former allies in the World War II.
