Task Hitlers Table Talk, 1941-1944 Introduction Hitler’s table talk is the conversation made by the governor of Germany,Adolf Hitler, with his visitors and was recorded by few individuals assigned with the responsibility. Hitler’s comments were written in different languages such as French, English, and distributed to other countries. He commented on many topics about his life and future strategy for Germany and his life. The spontaneous conversations were held between 1941 and 1944. Most of the meetings consisted of Hitler and the Nazi leaders who had common interests. Borman and Henry Picker wrote and recorded notes directly from the meeting conversation between the prominent leaders. They wrote information from the comments the German’s governor said. Hitler’s table talk has faced controversy on whether the information gathered by the journalist reflected on the true attitude of Adolf Hitler. The information from published book on Hitler’s table talk majorly emphasizes on comments stated by Hitler. Adolf Hitler commented on many issues concerning his private life, Christian religion, English language, war on enemies, and future plans he had for Germany. History of Hitler’s table talk The history of Hitler’s table talk is complex, since many people were involved in the note taking. The conversation majorly touched on matters of foreign affairs and war that affected the country. Other topics discussed by Adolf Hitler were on religion, philosophy and on diverse cultures that existed in Germany. He also commented on the feelings he had towards his friends and enemies, and his future plans on what he was intending to do for Germany. The talks were held at a place known as Furhrerhauptquartiere, which was popularly known as Fuhrer headquarters located in one of Hitler’s companies. Albert Speer, the minister in charge of the German’s Nazi war confirmed on the report written by the individuals as true. He also confirmed that Hitler was honest with what he was conversing with other prominent personalities and his inner circle. Hitler obligated everyone to be silent when he was speaking, and this assisted the journalist to accurately listen to what he was speaking about. During his conversation, he did not want any body to contradict or interfere on what he was saying. Therefore, his points were taken in seriously; when he delivered his message. Magda Goebbels reported that the conversation was monotonous since, Hitler talked too much and often repeated his points, and bored the visitors. Christianity influenced the maturity of western culture globally, since it was the dominant religion that defined most of the western countries such as British and the Americans. Other remarks on the conversation from Michael Von Faulhaber are that Hitler believed in the existence of God and perceived him as ultimate principal of the universe. Other critics of the conversation say that Hitler was antichristian and hated anything that was associated with it. According to his statement, Christianity was a diseases to the German’s which they should eliminate, hence, confirming his hatred towards Christianity. Initially, Hitler hated Christianity and aimed at removing it in Germany so that he could unite the citizen under one religion. He wanted the citizens to have and practice one religion and was ready to do anything to achieve the goal. He denied the German citizens the freedom of worship and used brutal methods to wipe away individuals who were practicing different religions. After failing in his mission, he changed his mind and came to love and appreciate Christianity as a religion. He specifically loved to worship in catholic and was spotted positively commenting on the church. Hitler recognized and worshiped Jesus’ teachings, but commented that they were corrupted by Apostle Paul (Steigmann-Gall, 257). He claimed the Paul had transformed the teachings into Jewish Bolshevism which gave slaves the rights over their leaders. Later, he called for religion unity under Christianity church. Hitler’s comments on English Language English language was growing drastically worldwide as the British expanded their territory through colonizing countries. Hitler also tried to compete and halt the drastic spread of the language. During the conversation, he commented that German language was superior compared to English language. Through his words, he showed his perception on the language and what he could plan to stop the rapid growth of the language. He said that English language lacked the ability to clearly communicate with a person through expressing one’s thoughts. Therefore, Hitler showed his negative attitude towards English language through his negative comments. He loved speaking Germany as his language, and wished that it could be an international language; which is spoken by many people globally. Hitler’s comment on war Hitler remarks on war surprised many, since he was for war to get peace. He believed that through war he would achieve his goal and make the world better. He declared war on people because of who they were. This made him to be one of atrocious leader in the world history (Loeb, 2). The Jewish children were ordered to be killed by Hitler to reduce their number since they were growing exceptionally fast and population widening. “I want war. To me all means will be right. My motto is not "Dont, whatever you do, annoy the enemy." My motto is "Destroy him by all and any means." I am the one who will wage the war!” This was his comment when speaking on war. Adolf Hitler’s mind took war as the only solution to find peace and dominance in the world. Therefore, in his reign, he declared war for many reasons to satisfy his goals and missions. “I have not come into this world to make men better, but to make use of their weaknesses” these were Adolf Hitler’s words which showed the type of leader he was. Many people died without committing any crime but because they did not belong to the Hitler’s group choice. Hitler’s comments on war during the table conversation assisted the world to know what kind of the leader he was and what he was capable of doing. Most of the table talk was held between Hitler and his military personnel who discussed on the progress of the war. They planned on the next attack and what they should do to win certain wars. Between the years 1943 and 1944, Hitler became physically worn out and depressed as the war turned sour and faced difficulty. Hitler’s comments on his personal life Hitler’s life was a vegetarian throughout his life and was proud of it. In his comments with the inner circle members, he gave the significance of being a vegetarian and how most of German’s citizens have appreciated the fact. He commented on many facts about his life. His diet was based on the Richard Wagner, a historian, who predicted that Germany will be connected with vegetarianism in the future. He predicts that everyone will be a vegetarian and nobody will want to eat meat. He felt sorry for the individuals who ate meat and hoped that they will change and become vegetarian. During the private conversation with his inner circle members, Hitler often talked about the significance of eating raw vegetables to soldier and children. He based his arguments about vegetarianism on scientific basis stating that cereals help in body system. He hated eating meat because an animal had to be killed first before the meat was available for the meal; therefore, he detested the aspect of death. Adolf Hitler also hated smoking cigarette or anything associated with smoke. He was very open with his personal life and could often comment on what he likes and he did not like. Conclusion Hitler’s table talk that occurred between 1941 and 1944 majorly concentrated on what Adolf Hitler, the governor of Germany commented. There were individuals who were given the task of taking notes from the conversation between the Hitler and his visitors. Some of the topics Hitler commented were on; the religion he preferred his people to practice, the war on his enemies, and his personal life. Lastly, he commented on English language and how it was inferior to the national German language. He believed that German language was popular globally compared to English language, which was spreading exceptionally fast. Adolf Hitler was a dictator to both his people and foreigners living in Germany (Haugen, 63). He perceived war as a solution to all his problems and worries, therefore, killed many lives that he did not favor.
