Task The Grapes of Wrath Several movies presume to be the portrayal of various aspects of the American history. However, most ofthem have different variations to the original historical happenings, often because of cinematic renditions to design the movies to be more appealing. The Grapes of Wrath is among the films that sought to illustrate the American history and the operations of the government. Just like most of the other movies, it has some misconception and some adjustments by the directors in disparity to what probably happened.

The movie depicts an Oklahoma family that loses their ranch during the Great Depression, and later end up in California as immigrant workers (Nugent). Their laborious journey to California in search of employment and survival of the family members is seen in the film. In reality, the family did not succeed in their journey, and they eventually disintegrated. However, the movie has a successful conclusion since the family landed in a suitable place provided by the government to live. An optimistic view is given in the movie, rather than the challenges that the immigrants had at the conclusion of their voyage.

The idea that even the most underprivileged Americans could have a vehicle does not augur well with many skeptics.However, the film candidly recreates the Great Depression and the socio-economic impacts that it initiated among the masses (Nugent). The predicament of the family characterizes the challenges that other families from the region faced because of the personal interests of financial institutions and insatiable individuals. Most of the progression of events and expressions used either have been omitted or have been toned up.
