This chapter gives plenty of attention to the war in the above said border and explains the circumstances surrounding the war, especially the cause. The cause in this case is considered a political and military tragedy as it made the war all too from the war fought in other regions of the country. The focus on this level of detail creates an appropriate atmosphere to delve deeper into detail. This is in order to get the real cause of the war that made it very different from the one fought on other sides of the country.
The authors go on to state the reasons for the discrepancy in the war and its goals where the military used in the eastern side of the country refers to guerillas.
