At the beginning of the 18th century farming was practiced as the primary occupation throughout Europe. Feudal system ruled vast areas, in which merchants earned good amounts of money by trading the finished product of the farms to the market. The population was growing as well as the demands. End of civil wars lead an end to the feudal system which was now replaced by the monarchy system, as in Britain. Now the point was to enhance the economic growth to fulfill the growing demands. With the invention of the steam engine, the concept of ‘factory system was introduced. Young marriages and the resistance to overcome diseases increased the population growth which in turn prepared a large manpower, an essential requirement for the factory system. Rail system was the element improving trade. The workers of cottage industry loved the new evolving idea of mechanization. England was the first among the European countries to come up with relevant industrial rules. The trade was increasing and now the people were not dependent on the autocrats. Wealth went on flourishing and England had a middle class prepared to welcome it. In the era following the 18th century the per capita increase is in a greater ratio as that of population growth. In the words of Nobel Prize winner Robert E. Lucas, Jr., "For the first time in history, the living standards of the masses of ordinary people have begun to undergo sustained growth ... Nothing remotely like this economic behavior has happened before". The manual labor was now beginning to transform into workers who worked on machine-based systems. Steam power now enhanced the metallurgical process and increased the production of Iron, which was in future going to be the first brick in the industrialial revolution. Drastic changes came up in the minning, chemical and cottage industry as well. Hence this industrial growth was now affecting every indivual. Because of the modern government and vide spread education, technological growth in England led the industrialization process. Standard of living of men was changing and with the exception of few anti-technology groups, everyone was there to welcome it. The new methods enlarged the quantity of commodities produced and decreased the expenditure. Trade went on increasing with the new laid railways and road systems. England was the leading country in cotton trade. People started to move to cities seeking economic oppoturinites, such as job, education and health. Prior in the rural life there were less oppoturinites other than farming, livestock and other cottage work with little chances of progress. This caused a major reason for the population inversion from rural to urban land. The industrial revolution was to have long lasting impact on the lives of people throughout the world. All the European nations went out for trade in the globe and started to conquer the states to form the colonial rule. The people were attracted with the incentives the white people were to offer them and the wealth they had. With the coming wealth the mentality of Europeans changed to imperialism. They slaved the Africans to rule the Asians. 85% of the globe went under their order. The rest of the world was slaved to work as cheap labors for the industry. And by the side the Europeans were educating their youth and promoting science and technology to sustain their supremacy. So its true that without this revolution mankind would have not attained short methods of travelling,cars,steel and improved machines for their regular tasks, but still this change over has had its enormous bad affects on the human life as a whole.
