The risk for developing degenerative diseases is increased through you are doing most of the things right. Under 20 Great job but you have to keep doing everything right. Results of the assessment According to the assessment above, my score is 26 points which means I am at risk of developing degenerative disease though I am doing mots things right. However, much improvement is required in certain areas for the diet to be close to perfect. As revealed above, my diet from the three days reveals a high level of protein in the menu both in Lunch and Dinner. This needs to be reduced to avoid malnutrition. In addition, the level of fats I consumed also needs to be checked. Most importantly, my diet is characterized by fruits intake hence the need to integrate fruits to increase my level of vitamins. PART 3: INTERNET HEALTH RESOURCES The diet of an individual determines how healthy he/she is. When it comes to eating, individuals have strong habits. Some eating habits are good while others are not so good. The lifestyle of an individual also influences his or her eating patterns consequently the health of that individual. It is worth noting that some eating patterns are inherited while others are acquired when as individual grows. It is important that an individual maintains a more stable and healthy diet. A healthy diet comprises a more balanced in terms of vitamins, fats, carbohydrates, and proteins.   According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Harvard Health Publications, healthy eating is a lifestyle that must embrace by each and every individual. These two websites provide platforms for healthy eating and good lifestyle. They present recommendations to areas that an individual should follow to ensure healthy life. Daily activities do not only affect an individual daily lives but also their health. It is worth noting that, most health problems such as cardiovascular diseases, obesity, cancers and many more are associated with an individual’s lifestyle. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Harvard Health Publications are tasked with the responsibility of educating the public about the importance of good lifestyle. The knowledge obtained from the websites can act as a good foundation for an individual to start living a stable and healthy lifestyle. An individual’s 1st defense is to choose a healthy lifestyle. A good health guideline is one of the steps that will make an individual keep his/her immune system strong and healthy. Diet forms a part of a lifestyle hence the need to ensure a good diet. For instance, according to my personal assessment above, there is need for to reduce the amount of proteins I am consuming which is 3% higher than the recommended. This is viably in line with what is being stated on these two websites (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Harvard Health Publications). Therefore, I can confidently state that these websites are sources of information that will make an individual live a healthy life as far as diet is concerned. References Nison, P. An individual’s lifestyle is a foundation and determinant of his or her health. By selecting a particular lifestyle, a person tries aimed at maintaining and promoting his/her health and avoid diseases through appropriate diet, exercising, weight control, not smoking and immunizing body against diseases. For a positive health promotion, it is important for an individual embrace positive behavior patterns (Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute, 2012). Integrated professional development includes effective, sociopolitical, humanistic, and health-care dimensions. Consequently, several studies have revealed a relationship between university students’ health status and academic performance (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, 2011). In this regard, health promotion programs are inevitable. University students contribute a vital part of a nation’s young population (Cox & Klinger, 2011). They represent a good sector of social and educated symbol in the society. Just like any other students, undergraduate students pursuing nursing have lifestyles that characterize their daily activities. It has been observed many nursing students do not attach the importance to tier healthcare (Mendoza-Núñez et al., 2013). In this regard, many nursing students go to the extent of reporting their health status as being good irrespective of their unhealthy lifestyle. In a study carried out at FES-Zaragoza, UNAM, it was observed that 40% of students were either overweight or obese as a result of unhealthy lifestyle (Mendoza-Núñez et al., 2013). In general, several studies have demonstrated that female nursing students are more concerned about their weight as compared to their male counterparts (Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute, 2012). Female nursing students exhibit better health habits as compared to the male students, but they experience more psychological problems (Mendoza-Núñez et al., 2013). Just like any other health professional, undergraduate nursing students should focus on prevention and providing health through lifestyle promotion and eliminating the factors that affect human health negatively as opposed to focusing on treating diseases (Cox & Klinger, 2011). It is with concern most curriculum of nursing are characterized by health promotion concepts, but do not necessary apply them to their own lives. In this regards, there is need for lifestyle change in the right direction for undergraduate students to promote healthy living. Different studies have ascertained that there is a relationship of lifestyle, quality of life and its different aspects. The relationship between health indicators and life quality is vital in making decisions concerning clinical and health policy making (Mendoza-Núñez et al., 2013). Therefore, the concept of the quality of life stimulates an individual to make decisions and preferences. This quality of life is what should act a stimulant to nursing students to live a more stable and positive lifestyle. Conclusion Lifestyle forms a vital part of an individual’s health. For a healthy living an individual has to maintain a very stable lifestyle. Nursing students plays a vital role in ensuring a successful healthy society. In this regard, nursing students act as a role model in health issues. Their selection of lifestyle can affect not only their personal lives, but also the lifestyle and behaviors of some individuals in the society. What nursing students learn in class will be transferred to the society hence affecting the society in a positive way. In this regards, health promoting lifestyle is vital for the nursing society; therefore nursing students are considered promoters to issues related to themselves, families and subsequently the overall society.
