Healthcare IT InfrAStructure [Document sub The basic elements of communication consist of collaboration. Communication is a foundation for effective collaboration. Communication in team differs based on networks and segmentation. This paper will discuss many facets of network communication that are essential for running a health communications system. Segmentation of VLANS In the traditional environment, IT infrastructure plays a monumental roles in sub divisions and groups. In a larger scale of teams, messages can be lost and misconstrued which may be detrimental to the dynamics of the group. It is crucial to understand the impotency of information systems. An information system is a collaborative effort that strives to connect people, network, software, hardware, and data in order to facilitate the daily operations of a business in the healthcare environment. There are many types of information systems that consist of: manual, informal, formal, and computer-based. Information systems in essence give valuable data to organizations that can be given evaluated upon, analyzed, and enhance the value of the key goals that the organization possesses. In the design process of implementing this topology, it is crucial to not undermine the process of business activities. This process refers to the way by which an enterprise understands, defines and documents the business process activities that enable it to function economically, effectively. The purpose of process design is to make sure that business processes are optimized, which is the first way under the CIO function to meet customer requirement and assist organizational development. From this case study, it is pretty conclusive to say that Help Desk can be combined with Desktop Services. Usually, the first tier ticket administrator can handle these calls and direct them to the severity of the issue. This cuts cost, resources, and management for problems to be escalated at a higher level. Network Operations in Cloud Another important facet is to understand the Network operations department. The networking world in healthcare must understand VLANs and run protocols that are cost effective, efficient, and rapid. From the server side, each vlan should be segmented to control the flow of information, which is the second way under the CIO to conduct data flow. Additionally, most networks should be deployed in cloud. In order to truly understand cloud computing, it is crucial to understand the infrastructure. As mentioned above, the organization has many facets to take care of . Hence, segregation of duties in cloud computing is essential. Cloud computing is simply many computers or servers in a cluster that host applications and services. The whole envision of cloud computing is to provide robust solutions for organizations and to provide access at the touch of fingertips. Cloud computing allows ease of access to file and video sharing within minutes. It has dramatically allocated the idea of storing data into a server that can allow all stakeholders in healthcare operations to obtain it with proper access. Another hot feature of deployment in Network operations is data synchronization within the team of doctors, patients, and nurses. With the advent of data integration, data synchronization must be conducted in such a manner in which a uniformed manner of data is depicted. For instance, one standard template or file can be integrated into many file formats. Data integration is a crucial component of cloud computing because it allows organizations to opt out for open-access infrastructure rather than buying a custom solutions from a vendor. Although the challenge of open-source is more challenging, it does dramatically cut costs for organizations. Moreover in cloud computing, small businesses can access these resources and expand based on allocation needs. Application Development When it comes to application development, it is crucial to understand that outsourcing developers is a common theme for many healthcare organizations. Giving the requirements from business analysts, application development becomes a seamless task. Collaboration and facilitating the requirements is an element that can be conducted and be migrated to interface department. Using open stack and proprietary tools, these groups can be merged. For the basis of securing this environment, a use case will be applied to understand this issue in more detailOne of the main concerns of the organization was to reduce cost of their servers and address the issue of a growing customer base that was vital for their organizational needs. This could be achieved via using VMWare technology that is one of the innovators in the industry. Benefits vs Risk Analysis Without a doubt, the Network Operation is the most pivotal point to be in premises for many reasons. First and foremost, the network team must be ready to handle situations considering a network goes down. It is crucial to understand that other elements can be outsources such as application development. This is not a chronic manner because application development can be outsourced and if an application does not function; debugging can still be done online. The first alternative is to deploy a cloud and VMWare solution. From a risk mitigation standpoint, many benefits go in operating a network. Risk mitigation is crucial towards project management because it controls the scope of the project. Risk management and mitigations allows contingences in a critical manner. Having a full-blown data center can be very beneficial to reduce latency but can be not so cost-effective. Deploying a cloud solution may be very feasible, but security is always an issue. Although this is not an open source technology, VMWare was an excellent choice as a vendor solution that created IDS within the networks of the cloud organizations. In essence, securing the cloud computing environment has allowed the company to achieve a higher level of security and efficiency as it can dictate its settings based on government regulations and its own protocols. The second alternative is to create a mainframe Local Area Network in the hospital to run routing and switching with VLAN. The problem is to that it would require another set of Network Operation, but everything will be in-house. Additionally, security will not be an issue but having experts in this subject matter will definitely require outside contracting. In an industry where information is vital, this organization was able to accommodate the needs of their growing customers as well as provide information that were compliant with HIPAA and ACA. Furthermore, the company’s auditing team was able to ensure the legitimacy of network passwords within their own IT infrastructure. In case of an emergency situation, host lockdowns were provided to individuals based on their role. To conclude, healthcare policies must dictate monitoring solutions to understand effective flow of information. An example of monitoring the process is being able to determine the stage of patient records. Optimization can also be conducted during this phase by adding enhancements. A practice that is not well implemented in today’s procedures; this strategy can be quite useful against malware and other attacks. In order to ensure that proper layering has been configured, the first step to providing a comprehensive layer of security is that it will enable the IT team to assess all the network vulnerabilities.
