The complications developing in the foot could end up in the amputation of the foot due to the foot ulcers. Advances are observed in the in diagnosing and identifying these problems, but the advances in the treatment remain relatively poor. In this research proposal, the steps by which the descriptive phenomenological study will be undertaken to find out the lived experience of type II diabetic patients with diabetic foot ulcers is provided. A discussion of these relevant steps taken for the conduct of the study is undertaken.

In addition, the reasons for selecting the chosen methodology and the relevance of the research are also provided.Evaluation of the frequency of hospitalization due to diabetic complications demonstrates that diabetic foot problems are the most frequent cause of hospitalization in type II diabetic patients. These complications in the lower limbs according to AL-Khaffaf and Dorgan cause approximately fifty percent of all lower limb amputations. In fact, the risk factor for lower limb amputation for people with diabetes is nearly forty times greater than that of people without diabetes.

A distinct feature in amputation intervention procedures in diabetic patients is that most of these procedures were subsequent to the patients developing foot gangrene or an ulcer in the foot. In addition, it is estimated that about fifteen percent of all diabetic patients will be affected by foot ulceration on at least one occasion during their lifetime.
