Is it safe to sell our body parts? There have been a lot of improvements in the field of medical science with the passage of time. This comes as no surprise that even normal parts of human bodies are being sold in black market the world over. The discussion needs to be steadied in the bit that whether or not it is right or wrong but before that we must emphasize upon the fact that this is an on going process and markets have been rampant which is somewhat distressing to state. The most imperative of organs that are being sold are the ones which are easily transferable. These could include the liver, kidneys and even tissues of the human body. The transfer process could be pretty cumbersome but since the ones who are doing it know about the business, therefore it has become easy for them. Then there is the notion of donating organs to patients who can pay a price for it. This is called the process of organ donation. Indeed selling human organs is turning into a big business with the passage of time since the people involved find it a pretty profitable business. No person would be ready to give a part of him or her for a low price therefore the prices of these organs or body parts are kept at the most optimal rates so that everyone would get attracted and thus a profitable sale could be had from the whole business. More than that, the ones who have no interest in this whole buying and selling subject find it somewhat attractive in the sense that they understand their bodies and they know pretty well that an extra kidney would give them no additional use so they can always trade it for some money. The business thus becomes a profitable one since it starts changing the thinking mindsets of the people. Every human being needs to be shown some benefit so that he or she could make the very significant decision of his life and go ahead and donate his body part to an individual who is in dire need of the very same but for that to happen, there requires a system and a proper one which could carry out this transfer process in the best manner possible. The businesses which are happening in this whole saga might not be the best ones but surely they do their business in a manner that they remain unnoticed and no one finds about them at all. Thus these businessmen know that they are hitting upon the right people and the problem now arises as to how to make use of this exploitation process in the best manner possible. For this they show them some money and that too in advance which obviously melts down an individual manifolds. The reason why it is a big booming business lies in the fact that every person in this materialistic world is running after money and possessions therefore it is little to guess here what the motivating factor is indeed for these people. Now coming to the question of whether or not this is an illegal act or one that should be allowed to run smoothly as it could, we must have to focus on the aspects related with morality first more than anything else. The law of ethics states that one cannot commit an act which leads to a disruption, though negligible it might be, in someone else’s life. This also means that the people who are involved in an illegal manner at selling the body organs need to get their act straight and start understanding the predicaments that are involved with selling body parts like this, let alone selling body parts to satisfy their own whims, which is a big shame nonetheless. The doctors and physicians who are involved in this heinous trade are not doing justice with their respective professions since they very well know that medical ethics and the law of morality is pretty much against the very same. Moreover these individuals have not studied the medical sciences to disrupt the smooth flow of someone’s life rather they are the angels on earth who are sent down by God so that they could become Messiahs and act as the healing parties no matter how much pain a human being finds himself into. The need is to understand their respective roles and then act in accordance with the very same. These people have to do justice with what they do, not to anyone else but to their own selves and then think whether this whole practice is something that can be seen in a legal perspective or one that can be remarked as entirely inappropriate and illegal. As concerns to the notions where these organs are coming from, we find out that these body organs are available from left, right and center which mean the whole business of selling body parts and different organs is something that is done on a global basis. The doctors seem to be the biggest culprits in the whole business since they travel abroad a lot and hence they can easily disguise a body organ for some other thing and the best part is that they are not even answerable to anyone since they have valid medical cards to show to the relevant authorities and run scott-free in the real sense. But on the most part of these sales, the organs are the products of the people who are living in close proximity of each other and the affected person does not even know that his organs are being stolen courtesy someone who was supposed to heal him of his troubles. This racket seems to be making a lot of hue and cry by the people who are concerned and have some sort of conscience left in them. No human being can even think of committing this kind of act but since people are showed money for doing such actions, more often than not people fall prey to this business and end up buying expensive organs and at the other extreme, lose their body parts to doctors and medics without their even knowing about the very same. In the end, it would be correct here to state that selling of body parts and organs is indeed an unethical and immoral way to look at things. No person in this world has the right to steal someone else’s body parts without prior knowledge on the part of the person. The people who are behind these acts must be taken to task so that this business could be brought to a complete halt. On the part of the government, there needs to be concrete steps which ensure that people are given the best medical treatment that they could possibly get and there is absolutely no let up as far as catching the thieves is concerned. All said and done, it is up to the individual as well that he finds out what sort of body changes he has had since his treatment to a doctor or a medic and what kind of deficiencies he finds himself plunging into. This would help him get recover from the problems and start understanding the sort of robbery, if at all it was committed, and then stand up and take notice of the people with the help of the concerned authorities. There surely is light at the end of the tunnel, the need is to find the torch bearer in the whole equation. BIBLIOGRAPHY Gold, E Richard.
