Research conducted by Benli, et al., (2005), on the effects of alternate fasting on serum lipids levels, plasma homocysteine and coagulation status concluded that; intermittent fasting had some beneficial changes in plasma homocysteine levels, serum HDL, and coagulation status. Therefore, alternate fasting has beneficial effects on cardiovascular diseases.
