The Impact of Exercise on Mental Health Name of Institution Exercise is a physical activity that is well planned to improve the body in health and reenergize the body activities to be able to able to function to its optimal solution. There are a few proven benefits of exercise which have been proven by medical professionals and this has greatly improved the importance of exercise on mental health (James, 2012). Exercise can serve as an antidote and inoculation against addiction. In this experts try to encourage the use of exercise to fight an addiction. In layman activity an addiction can be said to be a regular social vice that one persists to do in spite of the negative implications it has on the victim body. It is important for an addict to seek a particular exercise to be able to break the vice as this will also be able to finish the urge or reduce it.an addiction leads to becoming a habit for the victim and therefore for one to break a particular habit through exercise to break the monotony. An addiction has been described as a chronic disease because it affects the brain activity to be able to specify the notion of the body as a particular activity that needs to be done. Exercise can also be used to boost dopamine. In this it helps fight the stimuli effect or the urge back in the mind of the user of the particular addiction taking back to the brain and the user can view a particular activity as not important and this will lead to more inconsistency and lead to freedom. The challenge of quitting an addiction with one day is that the hypothalamic pituitary gland is thrown off balance as it was already used to the habit. The withdrawal affect comes over and this might lead to one to seek more of the addicted substance if they come into contact with it. The need for exercise is that it boosts dopamine which elevates the need for mood and also reduces drowsiness for the patient leading to boost of morale for the user. Exercise helps in rebuilding the mind by increasing neurogenesis. When this is done the urge of the addiction is almost brought to zero therefore enabling one to perform more alert and to be tolerant with the withdrawal symptoms. It is this aspect that exercise increases the neurogenesis and therefore helps in breaking the addiction. Exercise battles the anxiety and depression that comes with withdrawal. When one stops to indulge with an addiction there is a gap to his/her day activity and for it to be properly filled one has to replace with a new positive habit for it to take shape. A heroine user will have to take another behavior so as to replace the existing one. This is how exercise can be that new positive behavior that enables one to seek other needs (Jacky, 2009). Exercise can help an addict build on confidence and self-esteem once he breaks the vice. For example once someone breaks the habit of drinking one can feel as a loser for the time wasted but if one can indulge in some bit of exercise this can build more confidence and also be a positive in how he views himself. It can also help one have self-confidence when handling issues and also benefit the person in the long run. Moods are causes of depression. It is important to note if not controlled they breed to depression. According to the scientists who have also studied rats show that the intoxication in our brains may lead to an addiction and therefore break the addiction much has to be done. Different factors in life bring about addiction and it is important to understand the causes rather than the symptoms of each. Low self-esteem can bring about an addiction when one does not know what else to do and results drugs as the best issue for addiction. It is also important to note that this thing start slowly and eventually become a habit that is not easy to break. The brain is already programming me to follow certain tendencies and this act as a cushion for the negative behavior (Jose, 2011). Pain might lead to addiction. When patients are undergoing painful diseases they may be administered with pain killers such as morphine this might lead to addiction due to the consummation of the drugs for a very long time. Though morphine has been proved for not been addictive other drugs are. War and peace with nations fighting against each other the servicemen would take drugs to help them be able to battle with emotions. In the years after war in Vietnam most of the service men were able to fight the urge and did not take heroine. It was therefore perceived that in times of stress most people seek to find a reprieve and not necessary because of want but because of the need. Though a lot has been quoted in this information it is important to note that exercise can be in different form but the most important it has to involve a physical activity that needs to be thoroughly done in more consecutive days to ensure that it becomes a habit. Therefore it is important to analyze whether motivation. For one to have conclusive report for experiment conducted it is important to note that the experiment should be reliable and valid. The dopamine levels of human beings also affect the way one is addicted to drugs. This shows how that in trying to break an addiction that symptoms are not the only solution but understanding the real issue is the same. The internal validity of an experiment always tries to understand whether the conditions were favorable for the experiment and whether they should have been any changes to be done. The external validity shows the importance of the results and whether the studies were realistic about the case conducted. Any misdirected or misinformation can lead to a very different result for the program me. Treatment of anxiety problems is different from one case. Different theories have emerged that need to be understood in an open manner. CONCLUSION Exercise has many advantages than its disadvantages for the body and also psychologically. This can only be expressed in a more open way that needs to be addressed that only very few people can deny its benefits.
