Since the year 2000, globalization has led many health care institutions to implement a long list of necessary changes in order to keep the quality of health care services competitive within the health care industry. These organizational changes can be influenced by internal factors such as the public introduction of a newly appointed health care administrator that may have come from a different health care institution and/or cultural background or a change within the organizational policy. Likewise, external factors such as the patient’s preferences in terms of available medical equipments and the provision of quality care services (Ch. 12; p. 283); the continuous improvements in the educational level of each health care professional and technology may also contribute to the way strategic changes is being implemented within a health care organization.

When proposing for an organizational change, it is necessary for the stakeholders including the health care administrators, the primary care nurses, physicians, the kitchen staff or anyone who is directly involved in the implementation of a new plan to motivate one another as a way of encouraging these people to actively participate and accept the necessary changes in the provision of quality care practices for the community members. In line with this matter, the use of Kotler’s eight-step model of change management theory works very well in the implementation of the World Health Organization’s service delivery reform programю
