The study design entails the inclusion of the measure of the disease in the population to determine the frequency of the occurrence in the different populations. The design is a reflection of the hypothesis tested using the epidemiological study. The approach how to evaluate the disease and the distribution of the disease will be done through a standardized formula. This will determine the increase and decrease of the disease over time. The study will be a prospective one to enable the research to have a controlled distribution of the determinants being studied. In this study, the determinants selected are the proximal causes of the CDV and the relationship of the two determinants are assessed to make the conclusion more concrete. The design is geared toward gaining the right information on the cohorts in the study to come up with an effective approach to counter the prevalence of CDV in the population. The design of the CDV will adopt a system of the study approach. This approach will structure the cohort study, case-control study, case-crossover study and the before and after of the study (Schelleman et al, 2003).

Cohort study. This will define determinants and establish the importance of the causative agents for the development of the outcome of the study. The concurrence of the disease investigated and the relationship between the determinants is very important for the realization of the best interventions to employ on the disease (Lobo, et al, 2003). The determinants were selected with a close relationship to the cause of the disease. The determinants in this case are occupation and diet.

Case-control study. This observational part of the design is where the two determinants are scrutinized and a comparison made in the study is conducted. The determinants data are collected retrospectively. This is done with considerations of controls on the populations and approaches to edify them in their living. The feasibility of the study is assessed on the outcomes that are rare to make sure no loopholes are left behind.

Case crossover study. This is hypothesis testing and the study of the triggers within an individual determinant. The case and control of the design are tied to the disease, as the determinants are the causative agents of the prevalence. The time before the noticeable effects of the sickness is assessed for the determination of the progressive health changes that lead to the disease becoming chronic.

In this study, the measure of the disease will have no temporal ambiguity since the results of the study are predetermined by the cohort study (Campbell, et al, 2003). Moreover, the determinants will not influence any inaccuracy with which the disclosure type is measured. The determinants selection does not influence the other subjects (Mikkilä, et al, 2004). The before and after study will aim at the assessment of the change from when the study was completed relating it to the increase or the decrease of the prevalence.

The study is designed to give the prevalence of CDV in the populations of working persons to determine if occupation can be an underlying determinant of CDV in given populations. The occupation is tied to the diets people take. This is due to the restrictions one's pocket dictates of the individual. With a good disposable income, one can get a good diet since they can afford the required price for the meals. With a lower disposable income, one has to manage consumption. This limits the use of the money on healthy diets. Therefore, the relationship of the two determinants is closely tied. The study will provide new paradigms for the control and prevention of CDVs.
