Such facilities are convenient to the patients and therefore save time and money. They are designed to incorporate the needs and special requirements of their patients. Most medical institutions are located by roadsides and in a manner that offers faster entry in case of an urgent case. Victims of accidents require faster specialized medical attention. On the entry into the facility, patients come in and out in different forms. One such special group of patients is the accident victims. These people come into the facility regardless of the type of services offered at the facility.

Their main aim is to receive quick medical attention and to help reverse their conditions. The placement of the facility should ease access. Most health facilities are designed next to roads or in a manner that provides a linkage to a road. This way, victims of accidents find timely assistance. When such victims arrive at the facility, they require quicker movement and efficient service delivery. It is, therefore, a prerequisite that there be placed by the door a number of stretchers and trolleys to easily transport the injured to different service rendering sections.

The emergency department is health service providers whose key mandate is to respond to urgent health care needs. Such facilities do not offer any specialized diagnosis and treatment of diseases but merely remedy the condition of the patient. Despite such lip services, a medical report determined that in the year 2006, America spent more than $ 18 billion.s. This amount could possibly have been used to put up more patient centered medical homes that offer services that are more detailed and promise to eliminate the less detailed services of emergency departments.

In the United States of America there are a number of PCMH key among which include the Community Care of North Carolina and the Rhode Island Chronic Care Sustainability Initiative (CSI-RI).
