? Quality Improvement Plan II Lecturer Data collection tool The Community Care Center provides a wide range of services to the community atlarge. There are specific areas identified that may need quality improvement in order to enhance the care and services provided to the community. Some of the areas that need that are in need of potential improvement include: primary health care unit, community support services and program section and the dental clinic area. Various data are needed to confirm the reality of the service and care delivery in these areas in order to improve the quality as necessary. The Quality Improvement Plan will only identify and improve quality where there is an evidence of data demanding quality improvement. Therefore the needed data to allow monitoring and improvement of quality include: client satisfaction survey, physicians and staff satisfaction surveys, and general waiting and consultation time. Community Care Center defines quality as services and care with is effective, safe, accessible, client centered, equitable, efficient, and responsive. Therefore these values will be measured using the collected data from the services offered and the procedures from the point of entry to the point of exit. The collection and use of the collected data will ensure the clients are served well by our staff, physicians and volunteers. Through the satisfaction survey, our support team as well as our staff and physicians will be assessed to ensure they offer quality care services to our clients at good working conditions. Their level of work satisfaction will also be measured by the conducted survey. The tools of data collection are equipments that we will use in collecting data for performance assessment, external evaluations, and internal evaluations. We will need strong tools of data collection that will be able to support the QIP evaluations. The process of data collection will be simple relatively due to the type of tools of data collection that we are going to use during this process of research in QIP. We will use the following tools of data collection in collecting data on the data information described above: secondary participation, this involves those tools that do not require direct contact with the respondents in order to have the information gathered. The data collection tools involved here are electronic mails, postal mail, web based surveys, and telephone. These tools of data collection will be used to conduct both the client and physician satisfaction surveys that will be used in the QIP. However, this type of data collection tools has no particular capability on the researcher to gauge truly the information accuracy that is submitted by the participants that gave responses; in person observations is another category of data collection tools I will use during this process. This type of data collection tool used when there is a personal conduct between the respondents and the researcher. This tool will be used to collect data such as waiting and consultation time. The tool may also be used to conduct in-person surveys through direct observations and interviews. We will also use focus groups in which sample teams give their opinion on the programs and services that the Community Care Center provides to the community. Interviews will also be conducted to gain in-depth knowledge on the opinions of the clients and physicians about their satisfactions and what they wish to be improved in the facility. In addition, in person observation as a tool of data collection enables the researcher to gain a true measurement and accuracy of the data collected. Nevertheless, the researcher is able to attain the observations that were unspoken by the respondents during the process of data collection; finally, I will use a content analysis and case studies as the last tool of data collection. This tool is based on a search of information recorded and a pre-existing research that may be vital for us in obtaining the needed information by the Quality Improvement Plan, which may help in complementing information that may be lacking from the previously mentioned tools during the process of data collection. Specifically, we will use, under this tool of data collection, information from the following sources: opinions of the expert such as the physicians, existing literatures, case studies that details the findings of researchers in the past, and content analysis of external and internal records. These three tools of data collection are going to be our primary sources of getting data and information during the research for information to be used in the Quality Improvement Plan. The most effective tool of data collection is the In Person Observations. This accompanied with the use of content analysis and case studies which verifies the resources used. Although all the mentioned tools of data collection can probably be used alone, we are going to use them together with the others. The data collection tools are very helpful to the health care organization. Generally, these tools aid the organization in obtaining the required information from the respondents and allow for the effective and smooth process of the Quality Improvement Plan. In general, the tools such as in person observation is direct, flexible, diversified, and provides a permanent record of the data extracted from the respondents. These tools are also helpful in that they are good for obtaining descriptive data and allow personal contact with the respondents. The health care organizations may also have data on the behavior of groups and individuals and brings about a deep understanding between the researcher and the respondents, through the help of the tools of data collection. It is evident that with these tools, the organization will get objective information and data that will help in improving the quality of the offered programs and services. During the process of Quality Improvement Plan, the data collection tools will play a significant role in that they allow for information collection from the clients and staff of Community Care Center. In summary, the tools of data collection ensure that the organization achieves reliability through consistency. Some specific tools such as face to face interviews are very easy and fast when used to collect data. Hence, quick information obtained from the respondents. This will ensure that the process of Quality Improvement Plan is fast and efficient to allow quick improvement of service and care quality delivered to the clients and the community at large. Therefore the data collected using the mentioned tools of data collection will be used to ensure the success of the Quality Improvement Plan. References Kliger, J. (2010).
