He is a dedicated and committed leader whose leadership said can be said to be transformational since his main aim is to motivate and inspire his fellow workmates and the rest of the staff (Northouse, 2009). He has achieved this through engaging in frequent team work to ensure the health care’s organization policies; mission and vision are being achieved. His leadership has made him score high on the self-evaluation scale. Duncan’s leadership style is in line with the leadership theory of relationship and management (Northouse, 2009).

This is so because he has ensured that the management of the healthcare is at par with its goals and hence everything he does in his leadership is according to the stipulated rules. This has therefore ensured that he positively encourages other staff of the hospital and has therefore achieved a lot and continues to want to achieve more not only in his leadership of the hospital but also in his personal life. According to Duncan, team work and frequent communication with his staff and other employees of the hospital has set an organizational culture that is not common in other organizations and this has therefore led to positive reinforcement of the staff and hence the general improvement of the health care facility.

The culture of providing the best patient care and at a reasonable cost has also continued to improve the hospital as this is a rare combination strategy for an organizational culture and the results are visible. As a result of his leadership style and the organizational culture he has put in place in the health care facility, Duncan has impacted positively on the staff. He has made sure that the staffs are not only care givers but also useful resource to the organization by contributing their ideas in the teamwork that is present in the organization.

He has also ensured that the different departments in the health facility interact with one another effectively and efficiently in order to fulfill the laws given by the regulatory agencies and the federal governments on top of those formulated by the facility itself. The same interaction has also been established among the medical staff in order for them to function as an organized group. Other than the present dedication to the hospital and the medical staff, Duncan is dedicated to his personal growth and has several plans for his future.

According to him, his goal would be to participate in future plans about preventive medicine. Apart from this, he would like to be part of the group to be involved in research of cancer and other diseases. This would give him satisfaction. Duncan is a man who is future-oriented and would therefore not mind relocating in case of advancement in medicine or his career because he loves to advance. In terms of the health facility he currently is in, his dream is for it to grow and expand more than it is currently.

This is despite him not being there because he loves the facility and would love it to excel in future. No work and leadership lacks its challenges and the case is true even for Duncan despite his numerous achievements in the hospital and his career. Since he is the leader and manager of the hospital and also it’s custodian of rules and regulations, he has to action them most of the time if the hospital is to excel and grow in future. He therefore describes the worse part of his job and which he
