Some people like vegetarian food whereas others like non-vegetarian food. Fast foods are getting prominence at present because of the changing lifestyles. People are not getting enough time to cook food in the kitchen and therefore they rely heavily on fast food restaurants for their food needs. In any case, it is an accepted fact that the changing food habits and lifestyles are causing huge health problems for the current generation. Fast foods contain ingredients that make the food tastier but destroy health.

Excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides in agricultural fields is also causing huge problems to human health. In short, the current generation is not taking enough care while selecting food. Science should influence people’s diets to help them choose safer, healthier, and better-quality food. While selecting food items, it is better to opt for safer food rather than tastier or more convenient food. The majority of the tastier foods are junk foods. “When junk food is eaten, including the traditional, disease-promoting foods served at the holidays, you may get momentary pleasure, but the results continue to compromise your health now, and many years in the future”(Fuhrman ).

Safer foods will not contain any bacteria or disease-causing ingredients so that people can build trust in them. It is better to cook food in your kitchen rather than relying on food cooked in the kitchens of hotels and restaurants. When we cook food in our kitchen, we can make sure that no bacteria or disease-causing elements are present in our foods. On the other hand, we don’t know how safe the food we take from outside were cooked and preserved. Hotels and restaurants are interested only in making profits rather than preserving human health.

Healthier food contains nutrients, vitamins, and minerals which are necessary to maintain human health. Moreover, it contains calories that are necessary to maintain health. On the other hand, junk foods or unhealthier food contain excessive calories which will be deposited in our bodies as fat. Excessive fat deposits in the body may cause, cholesterol, diabetes, heart problems, cancer, etc. healthy food habits help us feel great, and have more energy, etc whereas unhealthy food habits may cause the opposite things.

What you eat and how you eat are important questions needed to be answered before selecting a balanced diet for maintaining health. Better quality foods can maintain our health consistently. One of the major principles of better quality food is the freshness of the food. Damaged foods can cause huge problems to health. Many of the food items we are getting from the hotels and restaurants may not be fresh foods. They have their ways to make the food appear in fresh conditions. Organic foods are comparatively safer than other types of foods.

“The foods that are cultivated without using any chemical fertilizers and pesticides, processed without adding any of the artificial ingredients and packaged using natural means can be referred to as organic foods” (Organic Food Facts). It is an accepted fact that farmers are using increased amounts of fertilizers, chemicals, and pesticides in their agricultural fields to increase yields. However, these chemicals and pesticides can cause huge problems for human health.
