Hidden curriculum means a side effect of an education. These are the lessons that are learned but were not intended. According to Ann Arnett Ferguson, black children were learning more than they were intended to. She says that she walked in the school compound and found several post written how to be a manager. When she asked the principal, she was told that the school wants the children to know that they can still be managers of big companies despite of what they might have done in the past. Busing involves transportation of children by bus outside their neighborhood to school. It enables the achievement of racial diversity or socioeconomic among students. Ann Arnett Ferguson explains how races are a reality in bad boy’s public school. Being a public school, children are transported from home to school. Raced and gender is a form of discrimination based on the color and gender. She says that in school, African American boys are labeled as trouble makers. Stereotyping is quite visible in the school based of the gender and the color. She further explains that the statistics about school punishment were gendered and race. White Americans were more than thee quarter of the school population, but in the punishment book, African America boys took the lead with over a half appearances of the cases. This was true evidence that racism is still at large in United State of America despite of it being illegal. Gangsta image are images attributed with thugs. They are mainly worn on their hand or printed on their cloths. She says the she say a jail cell of a 10 year old black boy with his name on it. The boy was already in hooded sweatshirt and by the look of him; it reminded her of a face in in a film poster. It’s unfortunate that the black kid had already been labeled as a gangsta and already put in the school cell. The kid must have been a victim of stereotyping, as the clothing just resembled those one of 2 Pac, a legend hip-hop star. Punishing rooms acts as social hub for African American. Ann Arnett Ferguson found that there was a 5 times more probability for black kids to end up in school cell. She say that by the end of the academic year, she had begun to suspect that a prison cell might in one way a place in Lamar’s future. Its evidence that just like children were tracked in to future lawyers and doctors, there were also tracks for African American that led to prison. Maybe being subjected to punishment made them change their mentality or made them think about their lives positively. Despite of the harsh and cruel life they experience, African American still dream and work towards their goals in life. (Adult) Masculinity is the attributes or behavior that’s a man is associated with as an adult. Ann Arnett Ferguson says that an African American child was more likely to be harassed by men in a prison. This is an act of racism and disregard of African America life. She suggests that African American children are considered as trouble makers and are highly assaulted by the adults. Masculinity can be categorized in terms of the physical appearance or even sexual changes. Mothering is bringing-up a child. While us the world might be cruel to them, mothers love is unconditional. The bringing up of African Americans is only a challenge during the interaction with others who considered them black, and even punish for that. When Ann Arnett Ferguson writes about African American child’s dream, she says none of them ever thought of finding themselves in prison. However, in school they were already considered as trouble makers and people who will hold the list position in jobs. But when she interacted with them, she found out that they had dreams and they hoped to work in professional fields of play international games such as basketball African American children were the most suspended children in the school. As we have already discussed, they are considered as trouble makers. Ann Arnett Ferguson says that African American cases of suspension were 5 times higher than the Americans classmates. Most of these suspensions were not based on facts but pure stereotyping. It’s unfortunate that black people are punished for being black. Society has responsibility of providing growing children with good moral. A school should have even higher moral standards as it is a place where children go to learn morals and positive thing. It is very unfortunate, that in this school, black children are openly discriminated by the same people who are supposed to protect and install moral standards in them. Children growing in such a society can easily engage in illegal activities such as se and drugs. While racism in schools must be condemned in the strongest term possible, such teachers ought to face the law. Essential difference has been explained by Ann Arnett Ferguson, when she talks about dreams and nightmares. She compares the two and raises serious concerns. African Americans children have ambitious dreams in their lives. They are hopeful to become somebody in future. Some goes to an extent of explaining to her how much they want to pursue their dreams and became international basketball players. Others want to be professional in different fields such as doctors and lawyers. In the midst of a free environment, African American child has potential just like any other kid. However, in the wake of reality, they are faced with nightmares and challenges that they are not in their control. The biggest threat to their dreams is racism. African Americans are judged buy their colors and considered as a threat to Americans. The schools they go to is a nightmare to them as punishment and being thrown to school prison is much a reality to them. They are branded as violent and stupid in in the mindset of Americans.Being black is considered as a crime as they are judged buy their color. Some are even permanently suspended from schools even without factual evidence. With such harsh and cruel environment, realization of an African America dream Is Next to impossible. School rules are selective and favorable to some children. As Ann Arnett Ferguson explains, African American find themselves being punished for crimes they did not commit. This is as a result of assumption from the principles and the teachers. We have seen how many black people get punished than the American people. Ann Arnett Ferguson says that black people are judged by their color and not prove of any wrong doing. As a result, the best conclusion to make is that the school rules are selective and discriminate African American. Hierarchy is also an issue. It seems American children are considered to be more intelligent and wise. They are not judged with a cruelty or harshly. Culture hegemony was developed by Antonio the founder on the Italian community. This is a concept or an idea that suggest one culture or nation either by merely or direct intent its powerful position in the planet, influence in to how other nation or culture should conduct themselves. A good example is that of a dominant chines culture over Asian neighbor that has continued to exist into the modern era. This is greatly in comparison to the dominate Americans over their Black America. This results to the ignorance of black people leading to an injustice treatment. This philosophy simply suggest that the dominant culture tends to ignore the minority culture hence forcing them to try and adopt with the dominate. Cultural capital is the knowledge and idea that people depend upon when people participate in social life. Things like rules, being able to write and speak effectively can be considered as cultural capital. In this case, Americans are being considered to have more cultural capital compared to African America, Symbolic violence involves Physical item or things that can be used to promote violence. Gangsta groups use these symbols to pass messages to their group members or promote the violence culture in a society. Symbolic violence has heavily been related with African American In this article. It is by the clothing of hoods that has resulted to one of the African American being jailed in a school prison. Romanization is a sociology theory that involves the integration of new technologies. In this case, I have not seen any effort by the school or the principle trying to integrate any form of technology to identify crime. Instead the school has preferred judging people by their color and punishing them. Individualization in this case does not apply to all. Americans seems to have more rights that African American. This can easily be demonstrated by the African American punishment even in cases where there is no any evidence to support perception. Black people have suffered in hands of their teachers. Tracking has been poorly done. African Americans have suffered a lot for lack of proper tracking by the management. They seem to be jumping in to conclusions even where there is no evidence. Regulation of movement is stricter to African American. This is because they are considered as violent and stubborn. However, Americans not seem to have any problem with movements. African Americans have been treated badly and very inhuman, Black people have been represented to as criminals. They are judged by the color and punished for being black. In school, the administration does not seem to regard human life is all equal. Both Black and white people should enjoy equal right without discrimination. However in this case, we have seen how black people have been discriminated and disrespected by the same management that is supposed to protect them. African American has been considered as endangered species. This is because Americans are the dominant in population. This puts black people in a position to feel intimidated by the large number of Americans. Adultification is very selective; this is a process where children are mentored to take adults responsibilities. In this case, African American lacks mentors as they are victims of racism and punishments. Good Bad Boy, African Black Americans have been considered bad. However that is not the case. There many African Americans who are extremely good. Though in this school they don’t seem to be noted, it does not mean they do not exist. Americans consider themselves to be at risk in presence of African American children. As a result, African American children are punished for they didn’t commit. Unsalvageable, Americans consider African Americans as people who are beyond repair. They seem to think African American is people with bad motives who cannot change for the better. Hover this is a bad notion that has led to African American people suffering more. It is a pity that in a place where children are supposed to learn morals from their teacher, it the same place they get punished and judged by the color. Read More
