The quantitative analysis of early researchers will also be used to validate qualitative findings with the existing studies of organizational theorists using the quantitative approach. Relevant recent information from the past 20 years was collated for this study from varying sources, such as peer-reviewed journals obtained from specialized databases such as Cinahl, results from previous studies on emotional intelligence, books, and direct observations. Books were obtained from Salford University and the University of Manchester libraries.

Online libraries such as EBSCOhost and JStor were also used.  No single source has been deemed superior over the others and a close examination of these data supported evidence to each other. The data collected in this research made use of the triangulation method.  This method was originally derived from the discipline of surveying, which referred to the application of a series of triangles to map out an area (Byrman, 2011).  Keywords: Emotional intelligence, Job performance, Leadership management, Intelligence’s correlation, emotional predisposition, emotional aptitude, Emotional Quotient, Intelligence Quotient, contextual performance, Organizational Citizenship Behavior.

Inclusion and exclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria: - Differences in emotional intelligence between genders. - The significant effect of childhood environment and its role in future emotional intelligence. - The effect of emotional intelligence on job performances. Exclusion criteria: - Age groups were not specifically identified. - Geographic populations were not taken into consideration. Intense research was conducted using varying resources, resulting in the extraction of journals, books, and dissertations made by other scholars on the same subject.

  Not all were used and suffice to say that only around 75 percent of those materials were used for the purpose of this research. Problems accounted when accessing some of these resources included, difficulties accessing various articles from home, hence having to use University of Salford computer facilities, which can sometimes be a burden.
