Extract of sample "Social Changes as an Important Process"

Empowerment develops confidence and approaches to social change. However, the reading shares the assumption that working together is required regardless of the strategies implemented.

The solutions provided in the readings are accurate and reliable. For instance, there is the assertion that individual and group activism is mandatory for achieving social change (Lecture notes par 1). From this argument, one may point out that activism acts as the voice of the oppressed. Any form of activism is important in creating awareness and sensitivity towards equality. Consequently, acts of activism may influence changes in policies, laws and daily lives. However, a change in daily life would be more important. If the perception of society towards equality is changed, it would be easier to implement other changes in policies and laws. Policies and laws may change the behavior of people but they may not change the negativity in people’s perception of minority groups.
