Key Words: Same sex marriage/couples (SSM), Friends with Benefit, sexual partners, Heterosexual, marriage society, Sexual orientation 1. Same sex couples despite having fully accepted each other; they are still nursing deep hidden guilt (NeJaime 1169). Since, they are aware their union is against moral law, which the society in general does not approve, though some states’ regimes have legalized gay marriages. Therefore, each occasion they encounter heterosexual couples, start feeling guilt where they end up concealing it by not revealing their identity.

In addition, same sex couples are always out to prove their way of life where they contend it is the same as that, which the society perceives to be right. Secondly, same sex couples are already aware of the negative perception, which the society holds towards them, which is “their sexual orientation is not straight” (NeJaime 1170). Therefore, they result to being defensive where in some instances decide not to introduce their partners. This is to avoid unnecessary attention from other heterosexual couples and entire society, which may embarrass them by reacting negatively. 2. Sex in marriage due to too much familiarity, usually tends to be monotonous among many couples.

This is because, after few years into the marriage institution, many couples stop being creative while having sex besides lack of appreciating each other (Epstein et al 415). Consequently, this makes one or both of the partners start feeling bored with their sex life where it turns out to be a duty to satisfy the willing spouse. This is not evident with the single people due to the absence of familiarity in their relationships (Epstein et al 417). Since, the two partners normally meet when they want to make love with the intention of getting pleasure out of sex.

In addition, single people may have multiple sexual partners in the name of “friends with benefits” where the core purpose is to enjoy themselves with no strings attached (Epstein et al 414). Hence, they will not get bored with having sex with one partner where due to familiarity sex may become a duty, like in many marriage institutions.
