Wollstonecrafts Point on View Regarding Women - Essay Example

Wollstonecraft was very right when she argued that women used to be miseducated to play the role of the alluring and seductive mistress and not rational citizens. However, times have changed since Wollstonecraft’s days, and so has society. I am inclined to disagree with the notion that women are still being miseducated to for them to be sex objects. Feminism and the liberal movement have completely changed the education system which has led to women being educated at the same level as men.

This means that in contemporary society, women are not considered inferior sex items; rather, they enjoy the same and sometimes even better education opportunities than men. This makes them as many rational beings as men are. Today, there are numerous women who do not rely on their appearance for survival. They have infiltrated professionals and careers that would have once been considered impossible for women. This has been made possible thanks to education.Some women find strength in expressing themselves through their appearance.

The good thing is that this kind of thinking is slowly fading as more women become involved in the affairs of society. The education system is greatly helping in instilling the idea that women and men are both capable of rational thought at the same level.
